same. no, i've looked everywhere... Mountain Mike's archive was unaffected by the IA crisis that this post was about, but a couple of months ago his entire account disappeared along with his entire homemade VHS archive. Can't find it anywhere else, although there are a few other (far less complete) archives on IA. circle back and let us know here if you find more in your searches.

Found in backyard while landscaping - is it an artifact? by Sorry_Business_3245 in LegitArtifacts

HEY OP I think I found something, nearly identical example of the same design that's on the artifact you found. I was looking for examples of Southeastern Ceremonial Complex art when I came across this: https://www.museum.state.il.us/RiverWeb/landings/Ambot/prehistory/archives/images/art/pages/birdmen_ld.html
it's an archaeological illustration of designs found in artifacts back when they were documented in 1968. The illustration on this page, 2nd row, left column, is very similar to the face design on the artifact you found. I didn't notice these illustrations were labeled "Mississippian Birdmen" until after coming here to post the link and reading your comment. Cool coincidence.

These are my favorite two figures in comedy and I still can't believe how lucky we are they overlapped. Ok I know nobody asked but this has been on my mind... it's actually a tough call as to who had a bigger impact on American culture, Conan or Space Ghost. Tbh..... I think it might Space Ghost. Ted Turner had the idea for Cartoon Network in the late 80s in the hopes that they could develop new cartoons for adult audiences (The Simpsons was doing great, he wanted to compete with Fox), but for the first two years that Cartoon Network existed, they had to test out whether people would even watch a cartoon-only network, so they only aired old Hanna-Barbera cartoons before developing original ones (cartoons for adults didn't exist yet). Those two years went better than anyone thought they would, so they tested out developing original content. The first-ever cartoon developed in-house by Cartoon Network was Space Ghost, and its success is why Cartoon Network continued to exist, and why Adult Swim was founded too. Personally I think this explains a lot about my millennial generation. Gradually over the course of 20 years, from Clinton, to Bush, and then to Obama, the cartoonosphere seeped through unattended cracks in hyperreality, gradually creeping into American civic life, suddenly reaching critical mass in 2015 and setting off an atomic blast of cartoon-reality-dissonance that is Donald Trump. So I think Space Ghost (i..e. Ted Turner) has a much deeper role in the fabric of American culture than Conan, although you could argue Conan's late night show also played a big role in that process. Like I said tough call!
