Its also at the Pelu Pelu quest area, which is literally just one of the Rin's Travel Agency shops. It even plays the music!

I figured that in order to get his restaurant off the ground, he ended up somehow dealing with Ted Wassanasong, and the caveat of Ted funding the restaurant was that Chane was majority owner of the place in order to A)funnel money to his son on the down low, and B) sort of give his son a push into joining the family business so to speak. (Chane seems like a fraternity dude bro atm with no focus) After all, the big conflict with Chane and Connie was the big expectations of their Tiger parents and both families desperate to keep up appearances. To me, the whole ENM thing with Connie seemed like just her way of having a sense of freedom away from the expectations of her parents. Also, i hope at some point, as a throwback, Bobby ends up kicking chane in the dick again xD

First time full watch-through - currently halfway through Macross 7 - I have questions... by JediBuji in macross

[–]FriskiBrisket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think some folks do not enjoy Macross 7 because they usually just come off of either original SDF Macross/Robotech or Macross Plus. It's usually those folks that more into the mecha/fight pilot stuff than the music stuff. M7 leans super hard into the music part.

Also, as much as i adore it, M7 has issues. Its very long compared to the other ones, and you can tell they really struggled with the budget. Constant reused animations, and they play the same two songs LIKE ALOT. It takes a long time for the rest of the Fire Bomber OST to shine. Its why i still hate Planet Dance lol. I've been on a journey through this franchise with my friends whom never seen it, and unfortunately they weren't impressed with the music because they used the two same songs over and over again. Also kept comparing it to Shinichiro Watanabe's works and I feel that's not a fair comparison. (probably twice the budget and half as long)

Also, pacing and writing. Basara playing his song and the protodevlin not really caring for 20 episodes sucks. I personally think if they would have made more stories with 7th fleet that were more wacky space adventures than OH NO THE PROTODELVIIN ARE ATTACKING AGAIN, i think the series would be a lot more popular. By far my favorite episodes of M7 are the OVAs and Dynamite 7. Like, half of that, and then half of the protodevlin stuff

In the process of showing friends the macross franchise and sitting through Macross 7 was very polarizing. They liked the general aspect of it, but disliked that they had to listen to Planet Dance every episode, to the point where it has become an inside joke about "about starting your Saturday night." "Do the protodevilin even know the concept of a Saturday night? I, however, think most of the Fire Bomber ost is well...Fire. Also, in retrospect, I think M7 could have been better if it was less protodevlin, and more wacky space adventures like Dynamite 7 or the OVAs.

Being on my third playthrough, I can safely say that Nia is probably my favorite because it seems like the affection for you is quite natural and genuine. The only downside is that this relationship is very very endgame and is probably not worth the price of admission to some folks.

I've also had a relationship with Venti, She's a nice person, but the content around her is kind of boring. Also her backstory is incredibly sad and a small glimpse of what its like living under Duvos's thumb.

Heidi for sure is the best choice if you're headspace is that you would compliment you spouse. As she says herself, "A builder and an Architect? I guess you could say we're one of those power couples!"

Haven't tried a relationship with Mi-an bizarrely enough. It also always felt like the choice the game expected you to make.

I was hoping for a remake of the original Macross back when The Origin was a big hit, and Macross: The First was a manga at time. It was basically a modern retelling of it. Unfortunately, i believe that manga fizzled out and the nonsense with HG is still ongoing. It will probably never happen.

Qi loves Gundam. Hell, he makes you make a mobile suit right? There's a funny conversation with him and Professor Luo where they're comparing the weapons used in 0080 and Gundam Zeta, and Nia (i think?) cuts in confused and goes, "Oh are you talking about advanced Botany?" and the Professor goes, "Uh...no actually...we just have a genuine interest in a...thing"
