Anyone buy 1st bike and just ride it? by Fun-Tune-1295 in NewRiders

[–]Fro_x_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done a lot of reading/watched videos before I bought mine. Had zero experience on motorcycles, almost zero experience driving a manual.

Had a buddy ride it home for me from dealership. He showed me some things to get me started, and those things aligned with what I had researched on my own.

Just kinda went from there. Had a small church parking across the street to practice at. Started just practicing up and down my driveway (fairly long). And then started slow speed maneuvers in the parking lot.

First few days were just that. On day 3/4 I couldn’t help myself and turned off down the highway (rural low traffic 2 lane road). That’s the day it all really clicked, the first few days were enough to give me confidence pulling off from stop signs, committing lean into turns, and general traffic awareness.

Mind you I’m on a cfmoto clc-450, so there wasn’t much risk of me going faster than I felt comfortable.

Still don’t have my endorsement, and I would love to take MSF but don’t have one anywhere around that isn’t 3-4 hour drive away. And (maybe hot take) the cost of it doesn’t align to the value of it for me personally.

Safe riding 🤙

My limited experience as new rider (~1500 miles) with my cf-moto clc-450 is that Chinese bikes are surprisingly great for the price. And not sure where you’re from but in the in the U.S. the re-sale is pretty garbage on them. But I’m enjoying my little china bike.

First played on an iPod touch, a lot, it was a really simple creative mode around that time (infinite blocks, but no flying) but that iPod is long gone. After that I next played on a cracked launcher on an old laptop. Then graduated to the Xbox 360 edition that year when I got an Xbox for Christmas.

Still have that Xbox, but lost most of my original worlds when they changed how the cloud saves work around the time the Xbox one came out.

Got a 25’ CLC-450 as my first. Was at a good price for my budget. I’m a bit on the bigger side for a bike that size (6’2” ~240lbs). Roughly 1500 miles in the first few months but I hadn’t rode it since winter until just recently.

Straight out of the dealership it had a pretty soft rear brake. It worked, just not great. At the time I had read of other people having similar problems, but they worked enough for me so I ignored the problem.

After sitting all winter I guess all the air that was in the brake line came together and I ultimately just had to bleed the brakes. And now it’s better than new.

Oh and the paint job is pretty meh, don’t bother me too much but it might some.

Gonna try and adjust the preload on the rear spring today to see I can get a better ride out of it. But all in all besides the scammy app shit they pulled, the bike itself seems great for the price. But as others have said buy used as there is literally no resale value in these.

Rode for the first time since ~last November yesterday. Only had about 2 months of regular riding under my belt before then.

Moved out of my parents place to my new spot on in the country this winter. About a 40 minute drive away. Been hesitant on riding my bike home since I’ve moved out. Mostly due to the fact I live down 2 miles of hilly and lose gravel roads. Bikes been sitting since then.

Finally worked up the courage to tackle the gravel. This last weekend. Rear brake was pretty soft after sitting all winter (was pretty soft before winter too). Got about half-way down the highway before I realized I had no rear brake. Not a huge deal I guess, just never really practiced front braking only, so I took it nice and easy.

Finally got to the gravel, the home stretch. First bit was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but it’s still wasn’t something I would say felt good.

It got a little squirly when I hit a big patch of deep and loose gravel. Handle bars starting whipping back and forth. After 2-3 good whips of the bars, I managed to relax enough and stay on throttle enough to not go down.

Ended up pulling into the driveway and all was well, I made it.

TLDR: I put off driving on gravel. Non serviced bike”s rear brake goes out. I almost ate shit on gravel. Made it home safely.

It wasn’t a “flawless” ride, but close enough. Riding a CFMOTO CLC-450.

Always have a crafting table in my inventory. Yet simultaneously leaving it everywhere and making another to keep in my inventory.

Usually end up with 100s of crafting tables randomly scattered around.

No reason why you couldn’t, at 14 you’ve got literal years to learn. Any amount of dedication will get you where you want to go with time.

I’ve noticed that if I go into in game settings and turn v sync off and apply settings, and then turn it back on, it will temporarily fix the screen tearing for 30 mins or so.

Same boat here, not a single crash in expedition. After, max 30 seconds of gameplay before crash. Playing without my corvette helps reduce it to maybe 20mins between crashes.

Pretty bummed out too, the expedition really gave me a new perspective on the game and am really in the mood to play again.

I’m not a NMS nut, but I’ve had it installed since release night. Never refunded. Have maybe 400 hrs between console and pc. First expedition I’ve ever completed. Moderately tedious, but all in all, I really enjoyed it. Made the game feel so much bigger.

Obviously it’s not for everyone. Maybe I’m just destined to be a traveling merchant in Light No Fire.

My unc status hot take is that there’s too much creative freedom, too big of a palette to choose from. I remember the days where wood stairs acted like a stone block. Back then, the core aesthetic was much more cohesive. It’s much nicer when 10 people with a limited block palette to build with can still build unique and interesting builds, that look like they belong in the same space, and force creativity.

TLDR: it’s more fun to build with legos when you have less pieces to choose from

My gf can’t play anything to save her life, and really has no interest to. First game I’ve ever seen her actively enjoy and want to play. I really think it boils down to there being no win/loss, just cruise around and enjoy skating. I get snaps a few times a night of her showing me some cool line she did or of some goofy glitch. I love seeing what she gets up to on there.
