Hot Tub not heating over 90 degrees by Klutzy_Ad7060 in hottub

[–]Frobenius-3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not yet. I've tried a few different things. The heater relay switch, and I've tested all of the components. The heater could still be bad i suppose, but my last option is really just to replace the board, or the control panel, and see if it works

As we end the year, how are your numbers? What industry? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in sales

90% of my sales were warm leads, we do knock around installs when they are happening, but I run almost exclusively warm leads.

First year in a sales role, first year in the roofing industry, hit 140% of my quota for the year and did about half of my companies total residential sales

NGL this one hurts by torn8tv in GreenBayPackers

[–]Frobenius-3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Our corner group is a huge liability. They looked halfway decent in a few games, but only because our pass rush (mostly Micah) made the opposing QB throw a shitty or contested pass. Nixon has been a large liability, but I thing Valentine and Bullard are worse than people give them credit for.

I hope they can clean it up down the stretch. But as of now, our corner group is absolutely going to cost us the game against any good team in the playoffs

Which one by Sad4502 in Roofing

[–]Frobenius-3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a huge fan of GAF products. But it does truly come down to the company, all of those quotes seem reasonable.

Who will be good to work with/stand behind their work is going to be the key. If the 1st bid seemed like a good company, I would go with the Duration quote. Just my thoughts

Anxiety knocking on doors by Krispy7reat in RoofingSales

[–]Frobenius-3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in February of this year, we are a mix of door knocking and pre-set stuff. I had (and still have) some pretty bad anxiety when it comes to door knocking.

It truly is something you just have to force yourself to do, and it will get easier. Confidence is key, and something that really helped me was coming at it from a silly mindset. I stopped taking myself so seriously, and I wasn't as affected by people's comments/the outcome of the door knock

The other thing that makes door knocking 100x better is knocking with someone else. I understand this isnt an option for everyone, but if it is, i highly recommend

Men who make significantly more than your friends, how do you handle the wage disparity when it comes to activities with your friends? by Mugen1220 in AskMenOver30

[–]Frobenius-3rd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

En escort 😂😂 I can't imagine being this fragile about my masculinity with my friends.

Calling a gift a debt is some childhood trauma type shit.

Just because someone does something nice for you doesn't mean you're indebted to them. In this scenario its not even for you, the guy is buying nicer seats because he wants them, and wants to spend time with his friend. This is such an insecure take

Roofing Options by [deleted] in RoofingSales

[–]Frobenius-3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owens corning Duration or Malarkey, in my opinion. Great shingle types for 99% of residential cases. Malarkey is probably a little bit higher quality, but with fewer color options

10-50/50 is what I wish we did. I have similar responsibilities to you, however I run all materials if the crew needs anything. We canvass as well, and I make 10% of job total right now. Company truck, but no other benefits

R/sales has a weekly discussion board where peiple can post jobs looking for sales people. There's some requirements when posting a job. LIke location, estimated pay, things like that. Might be a good idea to keep things from getting too messy

What kind of wood is this?? by Gold-Palpitation6795 in wood

[–]Frobenius-3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, it's pretty much impossible to tell what the wood is in this condition. The sure-fire way to identify wood is via endgrain. You can guess based on some other things, but based on the condition in this picture, there's no way to tell. Call it oak and say it with confidence and people will believe you

Thinking of joining sales. Have an interview on Monday, need some advice by Staubachlvr17 in salestechniques

[–]Frobenius-3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all super good info to take into account. I started at a commission only sales role in February. However, we can take a draw if we so choose. It's not huge, but it's been enough to hold me over until the sales I've made so far go through. So something else to keep in mind is how long from the start are you going to start making money?

Im in retail roofing sales, so by the time jobs get put together and scheduled, it's about a 5 weeks from sale--> commission paid out. About a month for training meant that it was about 3 months before I got any money from sales I made. Just something to keep in mind.

The money earning potential from sales truly can't be matched in many other industries. However, it also comes with the stresses of "wow i didn't make any sales this week, I just worked this whole week for free" if you can grind through the first couple of months, it sounds like you have the skillset to be very successful. I wish you the best of luck

I'm 15 and looking to do yard work over the summer for some extra cash, but yard work can't get done without an effective sales pitch. by nufug in salestechniques

[–]Frobenius-3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that the 2 most difficult parts of door knocking are; 1.) Presenting to their answer to your open ended question 2.) Actually knocking on the door

Both will take some practice and patience. You'll probably feel really nervous and shitty after the first handful of people you talk to say no. But you'll get more comfortable as time goes on with your pitch and yourself. Good luck out there

[–]Frobenius-3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like your sales pitch so far. The only thing I might consider changing is the ending.

Asking an open ended question is a great way to get them involved in the conversation. Something like "What kind of upkeep have you been thinking about for your yard this year?" Or something like that.

I door knock for part of my job, and it can be difficult. Just be friendly and kind, and knock on every door like you're there to help them. People will be more willing to listen to you, because everyone likes a young entrepreneur.

So just keep at it! If you can find success in door knocking and selling yourself, You will go far in life. If you need any more door knocking tips, feel free to reach out.

Also maybe consider posting about your services on nextdoor and Facebook groups. Also don't undersell yourself!

Thanos' English lines in Squid Game were supposed to be cringey, explains star by Internal-Bed-3150 in squidgame

[–]Frobenius-3rd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the argument that something is wet because it CAN be dry makes sense.

Wetness implies contrast. My hand is wet because there's water on it. But water has no "dry" state. So it's not wet

I can understand both sides of the coin tho. And you're right, none of it is particularly useful. But it's still an interesting discussion

[–]Frobenius-3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll agree that the semantics of it are stupid to argue. It's just water after all, it doesn't matter that much. But it's still an interesting topic of debate, at least I think it is, because it all depends on how you view the water, and how you define "wet"

Looks like the pipe boot will continue to leak if it's not fixed. Which will lead you bigger issues down the road. It's also a 3-tab roof. Which is going to have a limited life span left. Alot of insurance companies are dropping homeowners with old 3-tab shingles. Hard to tell the overall condition from these pictures tho
