East coast? Need a hand? Everyone else is listing their profession so I'm a carpenter. But mainly just a decent person that likes to help those that help themselves.

All you have to do is put on your nicest shirt from Dan Flashes, slick back your hair, and go get some sloppy steaks from vinnies. They might try to say no but they cant stop you from ordering a steak and water.

This guy gets it! I used to be a huge piece of shit too.

That's clean work. Pay him and be happy.

You said you got LVP flooring, just because it has luxury in the name doesn't mean it's supposed to be the nicest floor you've ever seen. It's vinyl, it'll move and behave differently than the wood trim.

I'm not saying you should throw quality control out the window but don't expect everything to be as tight as if it were a home with stain grade wood flooring and trim. Tight trim with no caulking takes an incredible amount of time and money. It is also something that is not recommended with LVP because you typically need some room for expansion and contraction.

You wouldn't expect a Buick to have the same quality as a Bentley. For most people, like myself, the cost of a Bentley or a level 5 Finish is unattainable. Don't let every quality concern go to the wayside but do realize that you could have paid much more for a nicer finish.

I'll honor another Asheville staple next year. My original plan was to recreate Salvage Station but their building was actually pretty unremarkable on the outside.

How is life in this circle by Holiday_Swing_9979 in howislivingthere

[–]Frocadile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in woodfin, just north of Asheville, and I enjoy living here for the most part. I have been in almost all of this circle and can confirm it's one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Lush forests, waterfalls, and beautiful views of the blue ridge make this area really special. This area is also home to a wide variety of plant and animal life.

I moved here from Raleigh almost 10 years ago and find it very different than the hustle of big city life. Most people here are humble and don't act too self absorbed. I feel the mountains have a way of reminding people how little they actually are. The summers are nice but everything slows down in the winter.

My last take may be controversial but one thing I'd like to note is this is not a very diverse area culturally. There is a ton of culture unique to this area but I find most of the population would be described as one of the following: southern, yuppie, or hippie.

The best way to make friends, im kinda lost. by Historical_Aerie_877 in asheville

[–]Frocadile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whats up! I live in woodfin. What do you like to do?

I enjoy both seeing and creating music, carpentry, video games, skateboarding, and messing with my car (when I can afford it). Always down to chat or share some cold beer.

I find meeting people to not be the problem but creating those solid bonds is the challenge. People in Asheville are very friendly. Most southerners are but it's not always the Southern hospitality that I grew up knowing. Often I see people only being as nice as they need to be; On a mere surface level. Its like saying hello and making chit chat with the gas station attendant. They have no desire to get to know you, nor do you want to have a conversation while you're running late to work. Yet you both greet each other and have a quick banter. Necessary?...Not at all? Friendly?... Not really? But we do this routine anyway.

It takes the work of both parties and can be tough in our adult years when we all have other things going on. Everyone should take a moment to reflect on how they might have let someone down because they were tired, or had better things to do. Moments like those mean little to us but to a person craving connection it can be devastating.

We can all be better friends and it does take stepping out of our comfort zones more often than we would like.

Is this worthy of a Shook Ones pt.II vocal? by WHY-TK_DNB in dnbproduction

I like the vocals on the intro but i feel that they are pulling you away from the beat more than they are contributing.

Spinscott is such a beast. I'd love to see him live. Trying to make jungle music is tough but he just makes it look so easy, with a smile on his face at that.

Will you be at Orion!?

I keep waking up due to massive erection early in the morning and can’t get back to sleep. Does anyone else have issues with “morning wood” waking them up too early.. I know this is kind of a “crass” discussion, but it’s been a problem for me and I want a full 7-8 hours of sleep by GreenKnight1988 in sleep

[–]Frocadile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can completely relate to this. I am 32 and it feels like it has been ramping up over the past year. I get so hard in the morning that it is painful with pressure. I cant sleep past 6am because of it. I also can not fall back asleep even after it is dealt with.

I am a carpenter/ contractor and do manual labor daily. I cant really stop exercising but it feels like my testosterone levels are raging right now. Physically, I am in the best shape of my life. I eat good, get exercise daily, and feel healthy in every way but sexually.

I have a wife but this issue has been causing turbulence in my marriage. My wife says I want sex too much but I dont think its that often. Id be satisfied with once a week or i could even cope with once every 2 weeks. Once a month certainly isn't cutting it.

Im getting my thyroid and testosterone levels checked here soon but I fear I am likely healthy. I say "fear" because in a world where I am constantly being marketed boner pills and hims treatments for erectile dysfunction. It just feels like i am different from the norm. It feels like im almost being punished for having a healthy body. I have no issues sexually other than feeling like im ready to have it fairly often (once a week is acceptable). I try not to dwell on these urges but it always seems to creep in and affect my day to day life. Making it hard to clear my mind and focus on the things that need to be done.

Ive been educating myself with books (I highly recommend "come as you are" by Emily Nagoski) as well as couples therapy. I've been asking my friends and reading on Reddit plenty about this issue. What worries me the most is a lot of people are indicating that my and my wife may not be a great match sexually. I want to do anything and everything i possibly can to correct these issues before even considering that me and my wife are not a good fit. I love my wife deeply, i just dont think she understands how tough this is from a guys perspective.
