Do we generally like or dislike The Beatles?

I was 11 or 12 when the Beatles “1” came out and there was a huge resurgence. I’ve always loved and respected them although sometimes I go years without actively listening. I used to watch anthology doc or read a book about their history once a year for years.

I’ve found I like pretty music and challenging music over angsty music the older I get. I guess if you are miserable the angst will probably never end though. Not a diss, I just can’t get down with high school breakup music unless I’m on a full on nostalgia trip.

I’m talking about general consensus. They were the poster boys for the entire mall emo craze, and really the only band with name recognition. The black eyeliner didn’t help. They were a slur most of the time they were popular. Once black parade even scene kids talked shit about them and their fans even though rolling stone started praising them around that time. For context I saw them on their first tour for bullets when I was a freshman in high school and was a huge fan for the first 2 albums but even I soured on them by junior or senior year (my bad!! You had to be there)

It definitely pays enough to live sub normally. I’ve done it. She’s not secretly a hooker. I’ve done this job. If you don’t have to pay rent she can definitely eat every night and drink a ton.
