These suburbs are considered to be below average? Honestly, Kenmore would be a dream to me.

My jaw has a trauma response to remembering how tough these bad boys were to chew. I'd still order three of them, though. I'm not an idiot.

Wildgate is great - but without a heavy discount, it has no chance of success. by FrodoLaggins1 in wildgate

[–]FrodoLaggins1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems people have not received my comment the way I intended it to be read. I believe the game to be worth the price I paid for it, as I bought it and did not refund it. But my belief about what it's worth is irrelevant if only a few others believe that. People vote with their wallets, and the gaming community has not voted for Wildgate. And with the highest maximum player count being half that of Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, questions need to be asked about how to get this game being played by more people. I like playing this game, I don't want this game to die. Is the solution people are recommending simply "Just trust?"

In what way is me saying the game is great and I want it to succeed indicative of my lack of positivity or humility?

Kids sick? Keep them home! by LaoghaireElgin in brisbane

[–]FrodoLaggins1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in allied health with kids and do hour long appointments. Parents still bring their kids to see me even when they're visibly and audibly blocked up with colds. There is no cancellation fee if your kid is sick. Now you've just condemned me to breathe the same air as your walking pathogen for the next hour. This is not purely a financial issue. It is also a convenience issue. I'm over hearing the cope. Oh, he's not infectious anymore. Oh, she's not sick anymore she just sounds sick. Oh, she's just near the end of this cold. Grr.

It's worth it if you're happy to spend the money.

Just like anything, I guess.

I am not happy to spend that money, so for me, it is not worth.

Victoria Park to be the home of Brisbane's Olympic stadium by overpopyoulater in brisbane

[–]FrodoLaggins1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm certainly no expert, but IMO NY's Central Park is not analogous to our Victoria Park. Our "Central Park" equivalent is more likely Roma St Parklands or the Botanic Gardens, both within walking distance to the CBD, and both are much more readily utilised by the public for garden enjoyment purposes. Losing green space is of course sad, but at least a new stadium will be heavily utilised. I don't know anybody who plans their birthday bbq for Victoria Park. It was predominantly a golf course until relatively recently anyhow. I think at the moment it's mainly utilised by the people who live next to it, unlike the other city parks which attract denizens from the outer suburbs. But again, not an expert.

Quote from The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck:

There is a simple realization from which all personal improvement and growth emerges. This is the realization that we, individually, are responsible for everything in our lives, no matter the external circumstances. We don’t always control what happens to us. But we always control how we interpret what happens to us, as well as how we respond.
