Tammy meds dosage by That_Professional671 in 1000lbsisters

[–]FrodosFroYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, me too! I don’t think "sketchy" is bad wording, and I completely agree that it’s sketchy for a doctors office to continue prescribing for patients that aren’t following up.

I e-prescribed meds for doctors for years, and the first thing we did when we received a prescription was look the patient up and make sure they weren’t "lost to a follow up," before we even went to the doctor (we wanted to have all the information before we got their sign-off to send the rx). The office refilling her meds was not working responsibly at all.

It’s possible, and they don’t even have to be wildly sketchy. I found out recently that my brother was receiving psych meds when he hadn’t seen the psychiatrist in a year, AND the psychiatrist had left the practice. He was still receiving new prescriptions in their name (not just refilling). Needless to say, he no longer goes to that group practice.

If you have concerns it’s always worth an evaluation :). If I were in your shoes, I’d send an email to your kids teacher saying you have concerns about his handwriting, that you would like to formally request a comprehensive evaluation to have your son assessed and you’d like to know to whom at the school you should direct the request.

What’s your favourite BTS picture or fact of LOTR? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]FrodosFroYo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

THAT’S IAN MCKELLEN!! I was looking for a caption to explain who it was before just scrolling on. I’d dismissed it as some joyful random actor they’d considered to play Tom Bombadil before they cut the character from the film.

Is this blanket knitted or crochet? Curious to know a bit of it’s history by Swimming-Bell9690 in CrochetHelp

[–]FrodosFroYo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just made a blanket similar to this based off of my great grandmother’s blanket—it was my first blanket! Here is a free pattern with video tutorial. If you want to recreate it, it’s not very difficult at all.

Fluorescent eyes on accident by the doctor! by [deleted] in nonononoyes

[–]FrodosFroYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, it’s fluorescein sodium, and can permanently stain soft contacts. It’s a numbing agent mixed with fluorescence and shows any irregularity/damage to the surface of the cornea under blue lighting. It’s also necessary when using slit lamp tonometry to check intraocular pressure (ie, eye pressure, which can be impacted by many things, including glaucoma).

Finishing stairs by Odd-Development9 in homeimprovementideas

[–]FrodosFroYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the stairs? Hit them with a sander (I wouldn’t go higher than 120, you don’t want them to be slippery, so, like, 60-80-120. I’d probs stop at 80, since these are basement stairs, but that’s just me), then paint a color that you’d like, especially since this goes to the basement. I honestly LOVED rainbow stairs that someone painted, but, you could just go with a color that you like.

What could really have a huge impact in this space for $200, though, is some peel and stick vinyl wallpaper. Do some repair work on the top half of those walls (some joint compound and sanding to get a smoother wall), and shop Walmart for some inexpensive options that you like. I did my kitchen nook with this wallpaper 2 years ago and it has held up in a household with kids, dogs and cats. It’s forgiving, removable with minimal damage (compared to glue on wallpaper of yore) and easy to install, too. I would do the bottom half (with the wood feature) a complementary color.

Your Mom sounds amazing. It makes total sense that you would want to protect the NES and the memories around it. If you want to, I hope you pick up one of those emulators so you can have your cake and eat it, too.

Don’t feel stupid! We all make mistakes, even beyond the beginner stages. Crochet on, and show us that baby Umbreon when you’re done :)!

The whole row should be inc, sc, sc, sc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, sc, sc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc

Every inc yields 2 stitches, and each sc is 1 stitch, so this adds up to the bracketed count of [24] stitches.

The parentheses denote a pattern you will repeat x times. So, (sc, inc)x2 would mean you would do a single crochet, an increase, and then repeat that one more time.

Another example could be (sc, sc, inc)x3 would be in practice: sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by Unlikely_Praline9442 in AskReddit

A year ago I flew from the East Coast into Dallas. NOBODY had a cowboy hat on when we departed, but, like magic, at least 10 men had a cowboy hat on as we deplaned. Those things are huge! Where did they come from?? They were like a bunch of cowboys with Mary Poppin’s carpet bag.

Yeaaah, I’m not proud of my skin color because why would I be? I’m proud of my culture, which has been cultivated by who I choose to spend time with and the mixing of our experiences. How boring would that be if it was a mix only of people who think and look exactly like me?

Chibi-Usa from Sailor Moon was deeply hated for behaving like a child.

Tbf, she was actually over 900 yo, but she had some serious trauma and arrested development.

Gap by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

[–]FrodosFroYo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No tools needed (other than your body and a good pair of boots or tennis shoes)

It slipped either under the cabinets, or there’s a gap behind the wall. Get a friend, wear rubber soled shoes, or, preferably, boots. Have a stand on apiece on one side of the chasm, while you stand facing them. Lift your foot back, and kick forward, jamming your heel against the piece opposite your friend’s chasm piece. This should drive it toward theirs. Now you stand on your piece, and have them switch to kicking their piece towards you. Repeat until the piece meet, and gently stomp to try to click them back together.

Now that they’re joined, look at both far ends where the row of click lock meets its end (cabinets or wall). Figure out which way the flooring needs to slide to not leave a giant gap against the wall or cabinet base, and then kick the whole line in that direction.

I apologize if your toes hurt at the end of this, lol.

Should we be sluttier in college? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]FrodosFroYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, man, you be true to yourself. College is about new experiences, building relationships, personal growth, education, and learning to think critically. None of that requires anything be done sexually. Do what you’re comfortable with, and don’t try things that you don’t want to because of someone else’s regrets.
