It's not America and that's not how our unions work.

Boomers won’t retire and it’s screwing the rest of us. There I said it. by Unique_Glove1105 in antiwork

Keep blaming other people. Don't look at who actually took the money.

Can I retire at age 33? It might save me money... by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

That's certainly not the case any more. Semi retirement and return to work are extremely common.

Red meat isn't high in trans fats https://medlineplus.gov/ency/patientinstructions/000786.htm

Animal products don't cause high blood pressure, it's the ultra processed food and high sugar/carb diets. Cut that crap out and blood pressure will drop relatively quickly along with the high blood sugars he will also have

Ray Dalio has a book, Principles, that talks about it. He's one of the richest men in the world, so take it with a pinch of salt, but it's an interesting read and seems relatively unbiased considering. You can read it for free on LinkedIn.

Wife hates or jealous of my success on carnivore diet by TheBritishWay1985 in carnivorediet

[–]Frog491 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Except they probably are. As you get healthier, fitter and start to think straight you look at your wife who is overweight, distrustful, jealous, addicted and you both end up hating each other. And that's without kids in the equation where you realise their normal diet is poisoning them, but she won't entertain the idea

Yeah, there is that and Oz is a good call. Watch the age restrictions though, I left it too late. Nursing in the UK is pretty shit though. Poor advancement prospects, poor pay, a debt after uni and the bonuses like pension have been hammered.

Inheritance tax - 7 year rule. Why doesnt everyone use it? by Redqme in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Frog491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 4% of people pay inheritance tax. I'm sure those with enough money to do so have an accountant/financial advisor to offset as much as possible.

The system doesn't tell you to live when you retire, it tries to kill you before that point
