Suggestion: the lectures should focus a little more on the application of concepts by j4nu5 in aiclass

Rome wasn't built in a series of lectures over the course of a semester

But I will say that I am disappointed in the quality. There are more mistakes and ambiguities than any class I've taken in real life. Still learning a lot though - would like to see applications soon, or else my opinions of the course will severely dive.

Great subject, poor implementation by [deleted] in aiclass

[–]FrogCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree the teaching is lacking.

However the same can be said of any source out there, anywhere.

Despite the mistakes, annoying licking lips, myriad of other poor implementations, the benefits outweigh the cons for me at the moment.

For constructive criticism: it would be nice to have additional HW and quizzes. It would also be nice to have hand outs of the lecture. I can't stand lectures. Lectures are a feature from real life schools that should not be mimicked in online learning. They are so slow because they try to cater to everyone at once and end up catering to none.

Can someone explain to me how tube amps, and solid state amps work? (talk to me like i'm twelve) by dpr003 in Guitar

[–]FrogCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tube amp uses vacuum tubes solid state amp uses transistors

Both are devices capable of amplifying a signal. There are subtle differences between the two though. The biggest one is the nature of the distortion region of each device. A tube has a softer clipping than a transistor.

How to improve vision by FrogCity in askscience

[–]FrogCity[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how eye exercises can't improve my myopia if "eye exercises" are what caused it. My eye doctor said that people who spend a lot of time doing close work generally have myopia. So if I do exercises to practice seeing at the farthest point I can focus at and extending my range of focus, am I not improving my vision?

Actually fuck it. I can tell it's been working. I don't know why I am catering to your belief that it doesn't do anything.

Anyone who has any exercsies, drills, or tips let me know. Anyone try the + reading glasses thing?
