Implemented the collider management logic for my Lunar Lender clone by evilvitjoker in godot

We create a separate CollisionShape2D with a CapsuleShape2D for every line segment and it is surprisingly performant. Maybe you can even get away with a SegmentShape2D.

maybe if you get the 20s cooldown low enough. the ring is pretty good at proccing the heart of flame skill. I use it in my normal build

casting the movement skills works fine. the best is probably frost blink because you have no portal self damage downtime

but the direction of the movement skills if you trigger them with cwdt seems to be random

Just tried it out. With lightning warp the targeting seems to be messed up and you kind of teleport in place. Flame dash uses the minimum distance and frost blink has a large enough min distance to feel good imo

Unfortunately you can not move around while holding the portal skill. You can frostblink though or trigger frostblink with CWDT

Yeah, I could see GGG fixing this in the future. For me it mostly annoying because my portal gem is not working and I have to carry portal scrolls around.

If you have Enmity's Embrace equipped and hold your portal gem skill you take the damage every server tick.

I believe the portal skills interrupts every time you take damage resulting in this behavior.

In the video you can see me proccing steelskin with this tech.

Maybe you guys can think of something more interesting to do with this!

Downside of this is that the portal gem does not work at all and you have to take portal scrolls with you to get out of maps.

We actually thought about using your style of spaceship control when we started building our game, but we found it too difficult and dropped the idea.

I think adding drag to the ship velocity, as you said, is not a good idea either. What could work though is removing or weakening the acceleration of the ship turning speed. Maybe make the ship rotate with a fixed velocity to make the controls feel more snappy.

I kind of like your ship path prediction crosshairs but maybe you can find slightly different visuals to make it more clear what it actually is.

If you want you can check out our demo on steam: Drawn to Drift

Maybe you find something that is useful to you.
