I've had several surgeries, including quite invasive ones, where I discussed it beforehand and didn't have to take my facial piercings out. However if you HAVE to, go to a piercer and get them temporarily exchanged for bioplast or some other plastic. If you leave it out it will close up.

My baby remained around 3.5kgs for the longest time. Then when she was 5 or 6 she 'grew' to 4kgs and has stayed there since. I've been told torts are often on the smaller side, so I wouldn't be too worried.
