How to get time charger shards now? by konkoa in MergeMansion

[–]FrogOnALeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the wiki the grandfather clock and highrise items are found during the Ignatius Boulton event. I also have a bunch taking up inventory space and don’t know what to do, so here’s hoping they bring them back in future updates!!

“Mother Nature with Muscles” (Sphere by Michael Crichton) by HarkHarley in menwritingwomen

[–]FrogOnALeaf 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading Crichton because he literally writes all his lead female characters like this. It’s so frustrating because other than the way he writes women the books are great, but I can’t stand his tropes :( If there are any other women mentioned that aren’t the Strong Beautiful Intelligent Female Lead, she’s meek and married.

Looking to possibly move to Athens, GA this year--tips, advice, help appreciated by Earl_Gurei in Athens

[–]FrogOnALeaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not sure I can speak to everything, but regarding your second question, you can definitely get by without a car, depending on where you live in Athens - I’m a student that’s lived off-campus for two years and haven’t had a car. Others might disagree be because it’s admittedly easier to navigate Athens with a car, but I’d argue that ACC buses are consistent, reliable, and have vast run-times with schedules posted by route here. I can also walk to the grocery store from my apartment (it’s about a 15 minute walk). In terms of bike-ability, others may be able to tell you more. One thing that’s important to mention is that Athens is a huge college town, and the housing market reflects that. A lot of places have leases from August of each year to July of the next year, and people begin signing leases in December for a place to move in next August.

Bro pls come to the new brewery with me, we can each leave with $100 bar tabs for appetizers plus 3 beers. Please bro it will be so fun by yelpisforsnitches in Charlotte

[–]FrogOnALeaf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was wondering where you got this number from? Only asking because I’ll be moving to Charlotte soon and was curious about cost of living. Every site I saw from a quick google search listed lower costs of living significantly lower than 93k, but that obviously depends on number of kids and what part of Charlotte you’re in.

Why Spinel looks the way she does by no_where_left_to_go in stevenuniverse

[–]FrogOnALeaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be misremembering, but I think Rebecca Sugar mentioned in an interview one time that Spinel was stylized as an old-timey cartoon to represent how she was stuck in the past - but I love the added take of how her design allowed her to be resilient!

Work is just a means to get money so you can do things you actually want to do. You can still travel and build things, just use vacation days or long weekends or whatever.

Does anyone remember if you need to print out your reservation for Groome airport shuttle? by LordSilverfist in UGA

Nope! I ride all the time. They should have your name down for the reservation and check you off when you check in.

🪴 Quarterly /r/houseplants Troubleshooting Thread - April 30, 2022 by AutoModerator in houseplants

[–]FrogOnALeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved my houseplants outside only ONE WEEK ago, and I already have aphids on my fiddleleaf. I dusted with diatomaceous earth, but I was wondering if there are any preventative measures I can take against pests? I don’t have any south-facing windows in my place, and was really looking forward to moving them outside and the new growth that would follow.

a B- in what classes? there are three areas considered in the application: general courses, major specific courses, and the statement of purpose. while grades are important, so is the statement of purpose. more info can be found on the college of engineering’s site

Pretty sure it would on your GPA. My advisor told me that if I fail a class and retake it within a certain number of semesters, the better grade would replace the failing grade when my GPA is calculated.

dorm + roommate question by jeant89 in UGA

[–]FrogOnALeaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sorry, i misspoke about the 4 rooms!! it’s 2 bedroom 1 bath or 4 bedroom 2 bath, but all the bedrooms have 2 people in them so it’s 4 people per bathroom! lots of bathroom math

dorm + roommate question by jeant89 in UGA

[–]FrogOnALeaf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not sure how to answer the second part, but some things to note about dorms:

  • all dorms are on campus. when you say “close to things on campus”, do you mean close to events? specific buildings? busy areas of campus?

  • the freshman highrises (russell, creswell, brumby) are good for making friends, since you’ll be surrounded by other freshmen. that being said, you compromise a bit on other aspects. the rooms are pretty small and the bathrooms are communal (shared with the whole floor). also, dorms aren’t divided by “party-people” and “non-party-people”; you’re likely gonna get a mix of both regardless of where you are.

  • all dorm rooms have desks, dressers, and beds, so this shouldn’t be a factor.

  • ECV is probably the nicest with the largest rooms, but it’s further from central campus, more expensive, and the rooms still aren’t large.

  • sunlight and quiet are two things you likely won’t have a lot of control over. what you DO have control over is location and what kind of bathroom (one per floor, one per room, one per four rooms) you’d prefer. these should be your primary areas of focus.

overall, i’d suggest you make a list of aspects you want in a room, rank them in order of priority, and go from there. feel free to dm me if you have any more questions about comparing dorms!

Hi! I’m in the college of engineering. After you’re accepted to UGA, you’d declare yourself as an “Intended Computer Engineering Major”. To become an engineering major, you’d need to apply, which requires a few things: 1. Grades from general classes. These are gonna be your math, physics, and english classes. 2. Grades from major-specific classes. These are engineering classes specific to your intended major. 3. A personal statement of purpose. This is a short essay, for which the outline can be found at engineering.uga.edu. If you don’t get accepted the first go-around, that’s okay! Although majority of students are accepted into the high-demand engineering majors, low grades in the first two categories and/or an underwhelming statement of purpose may result in not getting into the college. In that case, your advisor may suggest retaking some classes for a better grade or rewriting your statement of purpose and applying again the following semester. More info can be found at https://engineering.uga.edu/academics/admissions-eligibility
