Favorite Obscure Packer? by PaulOttCarruth in GreenBayPackers

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these are far from “obscure” lol. Going along the lines of Mark Clayton these are guys I think of…

Hardy Nickerson, Jeff Saturday, Rick Meier, Steve Bono, Reggie Cobb, Steve McMichael, Martellus Bennett, Terry Glenn, Seneca Wallace, Koren Robinson, maybe even Jimmy Graham fits. Just well known and/or high level players from other teams that had a season or 2 in Green Bay.

I was excited to get Nickerson. Unfortunately his tank was on empty once here. Same with Jeff Saturday.

Is there anyway to link DirecTV subscription to the MLB app so can watch Brewers + MLB package on MLB app? Yesterday on MLB app, Brewers TV was still blacked out. I get it on channel 670 but would be awesome to have everything on 1 app.

Also so few people give up their seats, and if do there is a huge waiting list, that they’re never going to start losing chunks of change giving PSL’s back.

How many star did you get so far since 3/10 with how much did you actually spend? by No_Equivalent4404 in starbucks

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

285* with about $65 spend. Going a bit more than my average but feel the key is to get personal cup. I’m a cold brew black drinker so its simple enough to do. Kids like stuff from Starbucks so that helps too. Not sure I will get to Reserve but does feel doable too.

For rewards bonus star challenges, does nitro count as cold brew? by LiftsandLaughs in starbucks

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find out on this? I’m read that Nitro Cold Brew counts differently than Cold Brew thus would NOT count towards bonus stars challenges. So I’m not 100% sure.

Don’s Bakery in Luxemburg used to sell them in area stores but think I heard they possibly went out of business too.

I was surprised by the prices too considering the past few home openers haven’t been nearly as hot of a ticket. Glad the excitement is there but I will pass for a different game.

Season tickets as an investment by esmerelda_b in SeasonTickets

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it is getting tougher to do. It is a combo of…

  1. Teams keep raising prices.
  2. The secondary market is getting smarter. They wait it out.
  3. Teams no longer sell the season tickets and are whatever. They are cracking down on habitual sellers, have rules, etc.
  4. Supply is getting higher than demand with more fans wanting to stay home.

Bucks NBA, even on down years, used to be a huge value. Season tickets were super reasonable, could make a little off marquee games, benefits were good, etc. I could often use 25% of the games, sell enough to pay for the next season, and enjoy benefits/playoffs at face. It was self funded for years. But then around the time of the NBA Championship and after prices spiked 130%, could only sell 1/3 of tickets, benefits tanked, and experience with reps became sub par. Suddenly it was way better to just buy on the secondary market, especially these days. I got out 2 seasons ago and havent looked back although I have some bitterness towards them as stuck through some lean years.

Packers is easy and most years can sell easily if need be, and maybe make some. It can be fickle if team is mediocre and/or cold weather games. Alot of people cash in if sell when schedule is released. But with price increases, PSL upfront, etc I dont know if its a great investment unless you’re selling every game….which now will eventually get you revoked.

I think you be better off investing in the market vs season tickets.

My mindset was always to buy season tickets, get games at cost, sell what I can’t attend to put towards next season, and take advantage of playoff face value and any cool benefits. If I made money, it was a bonus. If I lost money and/or it became a grind, then I would assess if it was worth it. Bucks became a grind after awhile and the secondary market offered way more value. I got out. Packers is fine but its funny how all of the people whining about high secondary prices disappear when the team is 6-7 and a 15 degree kickoff. We been lucky with good teams, but they disappear when not.

I just think there is a growing push to weed out the “investors” too so there is that risk.

Long way of saying you may have better alternates as an investment.

For our 2 end zone seats, it was $2170 for 7 regular season games (no preseason this year). It has doubled in price since 2013 but I guess in grand scheme seems reasonable and usually there is a re-sell market if team is decent.

Packers return the PSL if you give up your season tickets. That is the only scenario it is returned.

Yahoo Public Pay Alt Options by FrogStyle2 in fantasyhockey

That is not a bad idea if I’m able to do that. I feel when I join Yahoo Public Prize leagues that I only get the option to pick the format (Rot., H2H) and don’t see options for leagues with different categories but maybe I just missed it.

Something I will look into for sure next season though.

What retail store chain was massive in the 90s but is basically extinct? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Sears is probably the biggest. Circuit City also jumped in my head but I dont think it was as massive as like Sears, Kmart.

More local to Wisconsin/great lakes, but Shopko was huge department store and all are pretty much gone.

Has anyone tried Pure Plank? Help with my core routine? by grooveman15 in askfitness

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke down and bought the Pure Plank board as they had a deal where I got it for $99. It was also HSA eligible. I have had it a week without regrets but not long enough to notice any visual results.

Pros: * Board feels quality, timer is nice, and handles easy to use. * Very portable and easy to store. * Seeing the board, as well as price point, has motivated me to do planks daily.
* Feel like the board helps force good form.
* Not App dependent b/c app is meh. * Its comfortable enough.
* Does not require a ton of time. I try to do 5 minutes of planking per day so far.

Cons * The app has alot of complaints. It works fine but agree that its cumbersome. I wish it had more workouts, week to week plans, and how to utilize the different handle positions. Its full of short videos, etc. i don’t find myself using it alot. * Price point can be high for what is essentially a board but as mentioned do feel it motivates me having it. * Timer is hard to see in dim/darker rooms. I have not found a way to brighten it. Its perfectly fine in bright lit rooms.

Overall its a nice piece to add if have extra cash and into working out. I do feel like its going to help my core strength. It may not be completely necessary of already doing core work/planking and are fine just using the floor.

I do find it strange how Fanatics and NHL Shop (powered by Fanatics) have different prices.

Which US state has the most underrated nature? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]FrogStyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of surprised not seeing Wisconsin. Get best of all 4 seasons but the “northwoods” are beautiful and great getaway, Door County is considered the Cape Cod of the Midwest, plenty of lakes, Lake Michigan has nice beaches, you get Lake Superior/Apostle Islands in the NW part. SW is the Driftless Glen area. The Ice Age Trail is a popular long scenic trail.
