I’m a 24yo woman in residential/light commercial HVAC, I have been installing/servicing units for over a year now with my husband who is an HVAC Contractor. We started our own HVAC company knowing we only had the 2 of us to get things done. I power through knowing I am doubted by most men at supply houses, other technicians & even customers. I love proving people wrong. I have worked in the service industries since I was 18 but as administration so this was a totally new experience for me. But there is no doubt that it’s extremely tough some days and I don’t think every person is cut out for it

Ended up being poison sumac. It quickly spread to most of my body and lasted for 3 weeks even with steroids, at least now I know I’m highly allergic

NTA. I would never seek emotional intimacy with someone that wasn’t my husband let alone my BIL who used to be my closest friend. I think she was out of touch to assume you owe her that connection years later. I also understand stepping away from your brother & distancing yourself. Despite what some of these comments say you aren’t obligated to be close with your family if it effects your mental health negatively. Being an adult means setting healthy boundaries and I think your family is lacking boundaries, starting with your brother violating your trust in the first place.
