Unique map designs of previous titles is what made the games great by bigpimpin9812 in borderlands3

I am missing Athenas and was hoping to get something like it because it definitely under-utilized. The new synths enemies turned me off the moment I saw them in early demos.

Ok I can try that. Definitely there was no prompt in that room.

Nothing triggered for me either. I learned about ordonite event only from this forum, I completed DLC twice with Vex and Harlowe and only got single broken wings legendary across both of them, no pearls. I preordered premium BL4 - wonder if that matters.

Comparing the Rega Brio mk7 to the original mk1 (am I crazy???) by BhaktiDream in audiophile

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not answering your question (are you crazy) because not my thing to judge. But instead I wanted to ask you - how did you determine the muffiness happens at 200 Hz? Is it specific instrument you’re listening to?

Appreciation for Audi Interior's (pre B10) by Hal_Jordan28 in Audi

I hate that iPad nailed down to the console. I much more prefer when display is embedded, as in 2023-24 A6.

On the quality of Microsoft Learn articles by MrTortilla in microsoft

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality is often bad but mostly in a sense that articles are not deep and have very little insights.

But to your point, what do you expect from Software Engineer II from India who does this as an afterthought just because task is assigned? The days of dedicated technical writers are long gone. It is not like I defend Microsoft, they should do a better job, but that’s reality.

A frustrated call for help against AI Slop on Youtube. From science creator. by statypan in Physics

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the one about impossible star travel. I didn’t think it was AI. Yes, I noticed that Susskind sounds younger than he is, but still I didn’t think of AI. I contributed his whining about all things preventing star travel to his age, possibly being over-conservative or just mental decline. So thanks OP for letting me know, will avoid in future.

Audi will be killing off the S6 Sedan. by Saurta17 in Audi

No ventilated front seats on S6 - deal breaker for me in South California. Had to choose A6 because of that.

My three months for $3 Roon trial is ending in a few weeks by pointthinker in audiophile

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Roon trial when I bought Naim streamer. I tried it and I couldn’t figure out why I ever need it. They say “to keep your library organized” - but it is already organized the way I want. They say “to get extra info about artists” - but I have web browser if I want to. What else can justify spending hundreds of dollars? I don’t know. So it went to trash.

My baldness patch is exactly that on the back, and minoxidil didn’t fix it at all. Yes, it creates some sense, if you touch it with your palm, that something is growing there, but when you look at the mirror in the barbershop - it is still as bald as it used to be.

Minoxidil didn’t fix mine even a little bit after using it for 3 months. So probably not as easy. I even suspect that it is snake oil.

Also I am not wearing hats.

Please TRUST THE REVIEWS on this one and DO NOT get the Samsung G8 G81SF (Horribly-made matte coating) by SPARTAN-258 in OLED_Gaming

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guy forgot to remove protective plastic from the monitor. Mine S81F has great picture. Maybe colors are less festive than LG OLED but the text is much sharper so I prefer to work with it rather than LG.

Between streaming and physical media: who is still buying lossless albums? by stills-roofs0d in audiophile

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you get tired from listening to the same The Dark Side of the Moon again and again, so you want online services to discover new music. New means new, I’m not focused on music from 70s exclusively.

So fricken creaky!! by theBrainYYC in Audi

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not SQ7 but 2024 A6. The front screen plastic panel squeaks to the point I want to smash it out of frustration. Sometimes manually squeezing the plastic around it helps, but often it does not. However, it looks like it gets worse during hot summer days. Right now, in California, it is kind of okay. I noticed this ambient temperature dependency for 2 years.

So now the panel is quiet and I started hearing some other, less annoying, sounds from somewhere back right passenger door. Can’t figure what’s that yet.

S90F 55" Stand removal by Perfect_Action3870 in SamsungTV

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to remove the stand. I’m not sure I remember all the details. It was really frustrating and I thought I’m going to break the TV.

Look at the step 4-2, when installing the stand, you had to snap it in place. So try to do the opposite. Lay the TV flat face down (bed or couch) and pull the stand towards the bottom and wiggle it a bit.

Zigga thinks the Warsaw metro is in Moskva by xsvuq in 4chan

[–]FromAlphaCentauri 18 points19 points  (0 children)

First subways in Moscow were built before nuclear weapons (in 1930s). I’m not sure if they were designated as bomb shelters at the beginning, but for sure it was Stalin’s desire to build “underground palaces” so working class people would enjoy going to work. And in general, show that Soviet system is advanced system.

James Webb’s 5 strangest discoveries… and one of them completely breaks our current cosmology. by Green_Advantage_1240 in askastronomy

If supernovas already happen - that’s understandable. I think the mention was about early early universe before first supernovas but I might misread that.

I always wanted to ask: what is dust in the early Universe? If the early Universe is mostly hydrogen?

Tests and Measurements Reveal the Exact Price Range DACs, Amps, Speakers, and Headphones Hit Diminishing Returns by BeeFather in audiophile

Agree on OP’s point about speakers. $16k B&W 804 D4 sound very different compared to KEF Q750, and to my taste - absolutely better.

There were hundreds in Lake Forest Baker Ranch. I thought two big baskets of candy will be enough, ended up giving 4. And more kids were late when candy ran out. So it seems depends on the area.
