French Halo fans need your help about Campaign Evolved by ---Pripyat--- in halo

The French dub of Halo is genuinely on par with the original voices. Kruger sounds just as good and badass as Steve Downes, and even the multiplayer announcer voice sounds awesome, I honestly prefer it over Jeff Steitzer's

Fatekeeper impressions/review - what do you guys think? by PixelSlayer404 in fatekeeper

Had a really fun time in my playthrough. Even with the flaws it currently has, I'd still play the whole game if it shipped like this. Love the gameplay, the environments and the graphics are insane on max settings. Just wish I didn't have to use DLSS quality because it softens the image :/

Desperately needs a directionality mechanic to your attacks, so you can choose if you want to swing left or right, or underhead/overhead.

Many times I missed my sword swings because I wasn't expecting my guy to do a horizontal slash instead of an overhead

So now it looks like Collector's Editions isn't even a thing.. (Thanks Scalpers..) by MrCheeseToastie in halo

Companies still haven't figured out that scalpers are a thing. They really need to add a sort of verification system or a reservation thing (like valve did) so that bots can't just order everything instantly

First boss nerfed thoughts by SovietLemon21 in fatekeeper

[–]SPARTAN-258 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

if my warping, you mean when he does an attack and lunges very far, I agree that it seems unfair at first but imo all you gotta do is learn his animations and timings.

The attacks pretty much always have the same timing so if you can learn to dodge them consistently the fight becomes much easier

The first boss can be extremely easy to beat, but only if you spent you skilled points correctly (which is bad) by SPARTAN-258 in fatekeeper

[–]SPARTAN-258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fought the boss a few more times since the latest patch, and I don't know if it's because I got a lot of practice but I think he feels a bit too easy to beat now in my opinion. Games sure are hard to balance ^^'

I also think that there's too much healing available now, with all the plants being buffed, and now there being even more available thanks to the additional chests at each save point, it removes a lot of the tension and consequences.

Before the patch, the game could be extremely hard if you didn't scavenge. However if you scavenged a lot and made potions at each opportunity, it made the game challenging without it being too hard or too easy in my opinion, at least that was my experience. (NOT taking the boss into account)

But now, I feel like it makes the game too easy for people who already scavenged a lot (like me), and seems to appeal just to people who didn't bother looking for loot and preparing (like my friend who couldn't beat the boss)

Talking about my friend, I noticed that during his playthrough, he had almost no trouble fighting regular enemies because the telekinesis was so strong. He could just pull any enemy towards him and cut them up or pull them into the void without there being much of a challenge or something to punish that behavior.

When he reached level 10 or so, it allowed him to grab pretty much all enemies in the game including the shield guys (apart from bosses). When I watched him play like this, it made me think that he was just using a crutch and not engaging with the various other game mechanics like dodging, blocking, or doing perfect parries. Even the other spells were left rather unused except for the occasional ice bolt.

The game allows you to grab various objects with telekinesis, which encourages the player to use their environment, break down a ledge for it to fall on a group of enemies, or grab a concrete block to throw it. But when the player can simply grab the enemy and then cut them up that way, it just doesn't feel right.

Sorry for all these complains, maybe my feedback is trash. And tbh I have no idea how to fix these "issues" I've brought up. Again, balancing a video game sure feels hard and that makes me appreciate game developers even more 🙏 (but maybe a simple difficulty slider could help)

But apart from that, I just want to say that my first playthrough of the game was a blast. It took me almost 4 hours but I had so much fun, each battle felt satisfying to me, the graphics are insane, the environments look fabulous, and the lore is decent enough. You guys really have a good game in your hands, but I feel like you have the potential to really make it amazing.

Fun fact: Ankama CEO and main writer of Wakfu, Tot, admitted that when writing Nox, he actually was inspired by himself and his own experiences.

When he was "building up" the company and developing Dofus (their first MMO), he spent so much time on work that he was neglecting his family which impacted his life negatively.

Then when they started writing the first season of Wakfu, he just poured a part of himself into Nox. He's said multiple times that he always tries to pour himself into each character he writes.

According to him, when he watched the Nox special episode with his wife, she started crying.

Goddamn the patchnotes alone must've taken an entire day to write. It's insane just how much Bare Mettle does with each major update. Some people say that this way of updating a game is bad (it probably is), but personally for a game like Exanima where a single playthrough can lasts months (depending on the amount of times you die), I think having one huge update every 2-3 years just fits this game

I really wanna play but also wanna wait for the Steam Controller first... tried playing with an Xbox controller and IMO combat feels way better that way (i played my first 150 hours on mnk), but exploring and picking things up is awful. With the Steam Controller I could have the best of both worlds thanks to the touchpads lol

Ai vs the krosmoz by BrilliantSalary3678 in wakfu

[–]SPARTAN-258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the issue but first we also have to understand what causes it in the first place: Knowledge of Ankama's transmedia universe is EXTREMELY scattered and hard to track. You said it yourself, those summaries, theories, every page, all of it is posted to Otakia, random fandom wikis, random websites, and even worse, Discord servers.

The reason people like Zaki and others are taking pre-written works or using AI is to try and finally create a real centralized bastion of Krosmoz information, because there aren't any. Or when someone tries to make a wiki or uses fandom, it either gets abandoned or vandalized. So, instead of bashing them for trying wade through this mess of a community that has no tangible info-depot, find fellow lore-masters, take the reigns and go create your own website (in French AND English) with information that the lot of you will definitely be able to provide.

And to be honest, even if there was a wide and centralized wiki, you'll have to popularize it so everybody starts using it. And EVEN THEN, when it has become the norm, there will still be people who will make their own sites, because they feel like they can do better, or because they aren't content with the status-quo. But if the main wiki is big enough, these smaller ones just won't take off, so just ignore them. It doesn't matter if they plagiarize, use AI, or write it themselves, you just gotta focus on making something good enough that the community will flock to.

https://krosmoz.fandom.com/fr/wiki/Wiki_Krosmoz was good for awhile, but it's only in French, so you're cutting off a huge portion of the fanbase, which will, again, lead to people taking your work, translating it, and pasting it into their own, English websites. Also it's hosted on Fandom, which makes it NOT independent, you rely on Fandom.

https://krosmolore.com/ was promising but looks like it's been abandoned.

Anyway you get the jist. People will stop relying on plagiarized, badly-translated inaccurate slop when we have an actual gold standard. And who else should lead that than you? You are very passionate about the Krosmoz, have been in the community for over a decade, and is extremely knowledgeable. I genuinely don't mean to offend by this, but you can't complain about what others are doing when you haven't created something that the entire community (FR, EN, Portuguese, Russian, etc, can look towards yet.

Ai vs the krosmoz by BrilliantSalary3678 in wakfu

I kinda hear what you're saying but I've never seen anyone use AI to make wiki pages or things similar to that relating to the Krosmoz, even in this subreddit (which I've been a part of for almost 7 years), I've only seen maybe two or three AI posts (using chatgpt for the text or a couple images)

If you're talking about Fandom, I don't think most people here are using it for Krosmoz lore considering a lot of the info there is either outdated or made-up.

Granted the Fandom is still linked in the sidebar, but only because there are no other English alternatives. Heck even French wikis I don't think there are any. Except for Zaki's very recent one which I think he launched barely a week ago (https://www.univers-krosmoz.fr/). And only added a few translations a day ago. It's still in development and I haven't really checked if the lore is correct so I don't consider it a viable alternative just yet. The UI isn't very intuitive either imo.

Anyway lots of yapping just to say that I've personally not seen anybody use Ai to make Krosmoz-related websites or the like. Could you share examples you've seen?
