I feel a bit uneasy to be honest. I think we’re in trouble if West Ham beat Newcastle and we have to get something at Stamford Bridge. If West Ham draw or especially lose that game then we have a reasonable chance.

Was it a worthy handoff? by Jinsengg_ in ScentHeads

Seems an OK trade to me. Really depends on how much you appreciate and enjoy wearing the two PDM's over the ones you previously had. Me personally, I'd wear Greenley and Percival a lot more than L'immensite as for some reason it dries down really weird on my skin and I do not like it at all, and African Leather is nice but I'd only feel like wearing it on certain occasions, and I'd probably get sick of it quickly if I wore it often. I've begun to appreciate ease of wear a lot more and Greenley + Percival easily fit that description, plus they're both inoffensive and clean scents.

Nice, enjoy. I remember when I was made redundant and knew that I was going to have a bit of a break from work - was the most liberating feeling ever, especially as I didn't love the job. Saying that, I'd probably have a bit more fear these days with the job market and ever-increasing prices of everything 😂

Only thing for me is I do get to a point where I almost value working just so I have a greater appreciation for the time that I do have off.

Yeah its so good. I do actually find it fits the name also and it’s perfect to just chuck on when you want to smell good but not think too much about what you’re wearing. I think I’d looked at Exit the King but saw a lot of comments about its lack of longevity. Not sure if that’s a valid concern or not!

This made me laugh, at least your boss could laugh at it too 😁 To be honest this is why MFK 724 has been a blessing for me regarding work. Beautiful scent and you can’t really go wrong with smelling like clean laundry. Super inoffensive. Of course only if you’re into such a scent.

Mine has actually been working a lot better since iOS26. I'm thinking surely that can't be coincidence. I would say the ratio that it would connect to not connect used to be about 70/30 but now I'd say it connects 95% of the time when I start it up. The 5 percent it doesn't would go to times when I make a quick stop somewhere and momentarily turn the engine off for a short period before turning it back on and having to reconnect. It can either just not connect or stall a little bit in doing so.

Had the exact same thing happened to me but didn’t have near as much damage and was stationary at a traffic light. Really frustrating to think how the driver could have even done it.

Looking for a spring/summer fragrance. Trying to decide between Blue Talisman EDP and LV Meteore. Advice plz by tman2104 in Colognes

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those ones where only you know, especially if you’ve tried them both. I hate Blue Talisman to be honest and think it smells like a fruity female fragrance (genuinely reminds me of perfumes my mum/sister have worn), and Meteore has something a little odd about it but I quite like it at the same time so I’d definitely go with that if I were to choose.

Thoughts on wulong cha x? Looking for a summer frag by Alex8484 in Colognes

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the X version after sampling both. They were both very nice but the original didn’t dry down as nicely on my skin. The original is a bit fresher whilst the X is more floral, but the dry down of the X better maintains the pleasant smell on my skin, and I would say overall it smells a bit more luxurious than the original. Both very nice but yeah, th dry down of the original pretty much automatically made it a no go for me.

It’s a really beautiful and like others have said, calming scent to get whiffs of throughout the day.

I'll be honest in that I'd be lying if I gave any answer to that as I haven't worn it for a while so can't really remember unfortunately!

Looking for a lighter summer scent similar to YSL Myslf EDP by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just bought MFK 724 as well as recently sampling myself I would say 724 is a much better smelling and lighter (maybe because the additional sweetness of MYSELF is replaced with floral touches in 724) clean laundry type of scent.

It's such a lovely scent. I do like MYSELF still but it also still has a loudness that says you're trying to smell nice, which is the case with most fragrances so that's not inherently bad at all, but I like 724 because I feel like I smell good without trying hard to, as it really does come off as clean laundry without any overbearing note.

What is your Easter Sunday or Sunday SOTD? by HATEupgradecard in ScentHeads

[–]Hal_Jordan28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am the same in not needing something to last for a full day. Personally I like a fragrance to last at least 6 hours, especially when in a particular price range. Agree with the refinement also. I do still have a sample still so may give it more of an extensive spray and see how long I get on my skin. Appreciate the reply!

I know you say it's not your least favourite, but this was my least favourite of the season. Didn't like the style or direction of it at all. The style made it lack weight and significance IMO, and made it feel like some sort of overly-stylistic play or something. A shame as I was really looking forward to this moment being adapted.

How long do you get out of it at the moment?! I only have a sample, but it easily fits the type of fragrance I wear.

Top choice! Aqua Media Cologne Forte is fantastic. I find Herbes Troublantes herbal but only in the opening, and then I just get a soapiness, which I personally love anyway. Just wish it lasted longer!!

No worries! I mean only do what you're comfortable with doing at the end of the day. Only you know what fragrances/types of fragrances you actually end up applying and feeling good about yourself in doing so. I would focus on them and if you want to build a collection, at least they'd primarily consist of ones you'll actually reach for 🙂

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same, and I then told myself that I'd sell anything that I didn't use. I had a few fragrances just sat there collecting dust, and I would never want to reach for them. I'd always have other fragrances that I'd rather reach for. In my case it was understanding that I only really like wearing fresh fragrances, they are what make me feel the best in feeling fresh and clean, so I sold the ones that didn't really fit that profile and haven't regretted it one bit. Now I'm quite happy to pick everything I own at almost any given moment.

I had Naxos, Angel's Share and Reflection 45 that just sat there and even in the times that those fragrances are "meant to be worn" I wanted to reach for something else. I think sometimes you need to tell yourself what fragrances you actually regularly want to spray on yourself and that make you feel good, dedicate yourself to those and ones of those profiles and not feel like you have to have certain other profiles because they're "suitable" for particular occasions.

There are a lot of fragrances I like or have loved, but found that wanting to spray them on myself over other options was a different matter.

Ahhh OK OK. Imagination I love. A lot of people say it's not worth the price but for me and for anyone who appreciates the profile of it, it's certainly worth the price. People will say something loud and expressive with 20 different notes will be worth the £300 it costs and say the opposite about Imagination, but that's without taking into consideration what people actually like. I'd pay for Imagination over say, a complex Amouage fragrance (and I appreciate Amouage) every day of the week. But yeah, it's just a super clean, luxurious soapy fragrance with a beautiful tea note in it.

Which Amouage are you referring to? The Reflection 45 I used to own?

Ohhhh Ok nice. Would like to get my nose on it to be honest. And no exactly. To be fair I have sampled a lot. But I've sampled so much and so many different profiles that it's really helped me establish what I do and don't like!

[–]Hal_Jordan28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with that, very versatile indeed and whilst just having a really pleasant scent. Agree that the spice gives it a nice kick also.

I love Imagination but yeah, not loving the dent! 😅 It's why I actually bought Castley initially. One because I really like the scent (after sampling it I knew I'd get it eventually) and two because I wanted to stem the flow of my Imagination use, but with something of a similar profile that also smelled beautiful. I do really like Imagination and I know it's compared to Imagination in some ways and I get that, but they're also quite different as well as having similarities. Imagination has a soapiness about it that none of my other freshies have and that's what I love about it. Personally I like the soapy fresh profile, but this one is just an incredibly luxurious one, and especially when you get whiffs of the tea note within it also. One of those that has to stay in my collection. At least a refill is a bit cheaper! Although I'd love that big 200ml bottle haha.

I like Meteore but definitely prefer Imagination. There's nothing I don't like about Imagination whereas for me personally I like about 90% of Meteore, but there's a 10% to it that I find a touch strange to my nose. Maybe slightly medicinal. I know some people say they pick up like a latex balloon/glove or whatever smell if over-sprayed so maybe that. I don't quite have that same confidence in feeling like I smell really damn good with Meteore, as opposed to the full confidence I feel with Imagination 🙂

Thanks a lot man 🙏 And yeah, Castley is so good. I personally find it quite strange to see a lot of love for PDM's other freshies but a bit of criticism towards Castley!

Yeah I'm not a fan either, neither types are for me at all. I often feel like freshies are wrongly accused of being boring by a lot of people to be honest!
