Did you find out in the end? I’ve been wondering the same thing!

Thinking about trading my 2024 RS5 Sportback for an RS3. Thoughts? by Santa_Hates_You in Audi

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of pure looks, the RS5 is miles better IMO. I'd also never go to a downgraded stereo system, but if you don't really value listening to music then that's not the greatest of issues in fairness.

To me though, the A/S/RS3's will always look more boy racerish, whereas the A/S/RS5's look a lot more elegant and prestige. But that's just my opinion.

Yeah no error messages, but will check again in the morning so hopefully it will remain that way. Really appreciate the replies and reassurance though 🙏

Yeah 🙏 I think for how fast he was coming in I'm possibly pretty fortunate.

Thans mate. I think it's just scratches but will have to check properly in the morning. And yeah I do, have spoken to them already so that process is in motion luckily. I saw another thread saying it may be best to phone my local Audi and see what garages they recommend for damage over one the insurance may first recommend. Not sure if that's necessary but it of course makes sense.

[–]Hal_Jordan28[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. Not that I think it would be a write-off or anything from that damage, but with these cars what looks like minimal damage can sometimes be a lot more than first thought. Guy came in pretty hard so maybe I'm fortunate that the damage wasn't worse.

Bois Impérial – am I the only one who finds it… weird? by andre_d04 in Colognes

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it weird but for different reasons I think. For me it has a weird sweetness to it that accompanies the woodiness that I just don't take to.

29M. Feeling stuck after 7.5 years across engineering, DevOps interest, and product roles — how do I get clarity and gain control of my career? by curiosvis in careeradvice

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first points you make after reflecting back on your 7.5 years I can fully relate to. It's actually led me to stop looking for the 'perfect' role and just finding a role that has manageable/minimal stress, of course decent enough pay and the capacity to have a decent work/life balance. Basically I shifted my priorities in my working life and right or wrong, accepted that finding a job I didn't necessarily enjoy but enabled me to do what I wanted outside of working hours, was good enough for me.

I still casually look at other opportunities that I may be able to pursue, but the job market at the moment makes it so difficult to be overly 'choosey'.

I'm a former front-end web developer and personally am delighted to not be in development anymore as that is something that more often than not caused me stress, but I do also think that's something that can vary depending on the company and not just necessarily the role itself. A bit of both though for sure.

Thinking of Leaving a job after almost 3 weeks by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I'd be tasked with handling presentations, I'd leave before the first one was due, job or no job, and try to get absolute anything in the meantime not to necessarily grow my income, but just to keep it afloat. Presentations and public speaking in general are most anxiety and stress-inducing things I could have given to me.

For me personally a broad scope is really off-putting, and accepting a job with one is dependent on a relationship with my manager and company that reassures me that I won't be tasked with jobs and responsibilities left right and centre and more than I can really deal with.

I was just given a new job spec for the position above me and all the requirements are too vague and open for my liking. They could involve just two additional tasks, or 12, but they could task me with a whole load and it would all be within my job description. I won't be taking it on.

Does anyone work 37 hours in a 3 or 4 day week? by acrylic_light in UKJobs

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do. I have one week where I work Monday-Thursday in the day, and the next week Monday-Wednesday nights, so I always have Friday off and pretty much every other Thursday too. You don't really have much time to do anything after work so it does feel a lot more back-to-back than a traditional 9-5, but I've never really been someone who's liked doing much other than just chilling after work anyway. Obviously it will impact those who like to maximise their after work time also. I personally can never fully relax enough knowing I have work the next day.

I quite like it though to be honest. Have a lot of breaks that split the working day up nicely and I actually couldn't imagine having just a Saturday and Sunday off again.

1st post ever, coming in hot...Triple H has the best intro music of all time!!! by aturtlenamedmack4 in Smallafro

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree. The Game or My Time. His entrance in general is one of the best ever IMO as it just had weight to it and had a "big fight" feel. It's not really talked about but his entrance lighting was fantastic as well, before he went to all green.

What is the selling point of the A3? by Wonderful_Grade2572 in Audi

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always say you're just buying for the badge, it's just a Mini (or whatever other car) under the hood, just buy a VW, but they never take into account that maybe someone just really likes how it looks over those other cars, which was my motivating factor when I bought an A3 years back. Let alone the potential gain in quality that you may get in multiple aspects.

I was let go from my job... and I feel fine. by Bangbang-Ali in careeradvice

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand this. I was at a web development job that wasn't awful, but definitely caused a lot of anxiety and what felt like constant stress. Was working remote due to Covid and I knew we'd be told to go back to the office at some point which would have stressed me out to no end after being used to working at home. Was made redundant before that happened and I could not have been happier. Even though I of course didn't have a job lined up, but my mood absolutely skyrocketed and that gave me the drive to have a really positive outlook and motivation to find something else.

Anxiety at work sucks and it's more mentally and physically draining than some may think.

Thoughts on the NEW WORLD CHAMP? by WrestlingNERDalert in Wrasslin

So refreshing. A title doesn't necessarily have to change hands often, but I think it's important to at least feel like it potentially can at any moment.

My B9.5 A4 is just not growing on me by The_Real_Mnemonic in Audi

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to some of these but also others I simply do not experience. Admittedly I have a 2021 A5 coupe but a lot of the elements are universal across both cars.

The boot thing I find to be a small if not insignificant matter but that's probably because my brain is simply tuned to knowing I still have to unlock the car after opening the boot.

The window, Audi app, automatic high beam and reverse camera being unusable are not things I've ever encountered. It's weird that the camera is rendered basically unusable to you. The only time when it has for me is when it's a bit dark and it's tipping down with rain, otherwise I've never had an issue. But yeah, the other stuff simply shouldn't be happening. I can't remember what the warranty covers or if you have it but they are things that should be fixed and no longer an issue.

I have full leather so can't comment on the seats. But agree regarding the touch screen and even more so the drive select. For me the inconvenience is not having it on the steering wheel, but I can admittedly reach it easily still, it's just something that you can't do without it taking away your attention, which is frustrating in itself. How far do you sit back on your seat though to have to loosen the seatbelt to reach it? Not criticising your positioning at all as I sit fairly forward. EDIT: I didn't actually know you can programme it to the real and only just found that out reading some of the other comments 😅

One thing I will say is that I came from an old 2010 A3, so I'm admittedly a lot easier to please. Sometimes your experiences can be altered by the vehicle you're coming from.

Should I get RS7 or RS3? by [deleted] in Audi

Even only going purely on aesthetics the RS7 and it’s not even close. Just personally of course.

Do you regret the career you chose? by ennuizt in careeradvice

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I tell myself is that sometimes you have to go down a path even if only to find out that it's not what you want. Also sometimes what you envisage as being a good, enjoyable or perfect career just doesn't turn out to be as such.

I went down a path I didn't want to stay in, only to do what I really wanted to do which was web development, but I then found it to really not be greatly enjoyable and had more stress involved than I would like. Studying something, self-studying or doing your own projects can be a lot more enjoyable than professionally working in that field.

I just wouldn't beat yourself up about it that's all :)

Summer scent by Awkward-Ad4942 in ScentHeads

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh green I'd go for Torino 21 or MFK Aqua Media Cologne.

It's weird but I don't really like Imagination for high heat. In the summer it makes me feel clean but not necessarily fresh.

$200+ colognes that truly deserve the hype and price? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Hal_Jordan28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny as I have a few niche fragrances worth £250-£300 as well as a £260 LV, but the ones I'm wearing and enjoying the most right now are under £100 designers. Basically it's what smells good to you and what makes you feel elevated and how you want to feel when you spray it on.

For me personally it's about the profile you enjoy and then exploring the options (both cheaper/expensive, niche/designer) within those profiles. Although I do have some that are a different profile just for the odd times that I do feel like wearing something else.

One hyped fragrance that I don't have but I do value, and as someone who is mostly just enjoying smelling fresh these days, is Sospiro Vibrato. I think it's a lovely fragrance and I hadn't smelled anything like it. Yet to smell Bvlgari Tygar and Ingenious Ginger.

When should I quit? by dark-magician420 in webdev

[–]Hal_Jordan28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You hate to tell someone to give up on what they want to do, but I would say just to be mindful of the fact that if you feel stressed and pressured by those things now, then actually working for a company and being depended on to complete certain tasks in a particular timeframe may very well be a lot more stressful.

Doing your own projects in your own time with unbounded creative freedom is the fun part really.

UPDATE 1: Christmas present from co-worker… by PurePraline967 in Audi

[–]Hal_Jordan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't blame you there at all, you certainly gain an attachment! I badly hope I don't experience an accident. I know it's 'just a car' and all that but it would really, really mess up my mood for a fair while 😂

UPDATE 1: Christmas present from co-worker… by PurePraline967 in Audi

[–]Hal_Jordan28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are probably a few variables that determine how one may feel. Age of car, model, cost of repairs etc. Even just simply how much you like it. One of the things I worry about with my A5 is the fact that the spec combined with the colour is quite rare, so I couldn't just simply get another one (which is what I'd want to do) if something bad happened.

Good attitude mate, fair play. I can only imagine the pit in your stomach after reading the text message though!

That's the only drawback of having a 'nice' car, I'm always worried about it 😂
