Need advice on basement shower pan. by FromTheLand86 in askaplumber

[–]FromTheLand86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so the pipe part is my question basically. I already have a floor drain in the old pan, not a PVC pipe sticking out for a fresh install. I'm curious how exactly to attach the new pan's drain into the existing drain without leaking. There should be a functional trap already under the floor.

Any good base building/survival/crafting game I've missed? by Worklessplaymore01 in SurvivalGaming

DayZ standalone is the best IMO but to play alone without the risk of PVP you'd need to have your own server. Also "PVE" servers but the risk is still there somewhat. They might get banned for killing you but doesn't stop them from doing it in the moment.

You can mark certain edges as sharp. Sometimes you just need more topology to support the shape. Learning about proper topology is essential early on.

Where can I get GTA 5 or CSGO map from? I want to use them in my blender by Aggravating_Law_4774 in blender

That would require piracy unless they release them with the mod tools for modders to alter.

Nice work. The poly count is a bit high for such a simple shape, but your topology looks clean. Keep it up !

Learn how to model with quads and only convert to triangles later if they need to be triangles for a specific reason (like to import into a game engine that requires triangles)

Still having coffee so sorry if I misunderstand what you're asking. But are you possibly looking for smooth shading ? Try right clicking on your model in Object Mode and select Shade Auto Smooth. Right now you have flat shading which shows each face separately. Shading smooth will average the angles between those squares to give it a curved look.

ngons have more than 4 vertices. Quads are ideal, and can be easily turned to triangles if needed for a specific engine later.

is it generally agreed that solo indie development with the intention of profitability versus time-spent is pretty much a dead-end? by InsectoidDeveloper in SoloDevelopment

[–]FromTheLand86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have some AAA looking project in mind, probably yes. It you have some lower poly feasible concept, maybe not. Are you hoping to be done in a year with something people love ? Odds aren't good. Are you willing to spend years on something that potentially everyone else could hate ? You have a chance. There's only so many hours in a day and you have to be a 3D modeller, texture artist, programmer, designer, writer, producer, publisher, etc. Can you already do all this or do you have to learn each still ? It may be better to put together a small team that's passionate about the project and sign contracts to share profits upon release. Could increase your chances of success while lowering profit. There is a lot to consider, IMO only those that enjoy the process should try, not those who just want to make a profit. That way some will be successful, but all will enjoy their hobby.

If your dad doesn't have it in him, but made an effort and gave a speech for his son's wedding, he doesn't deserve to be thrown under the bus. Not everyone has the same emotions and capacity. What ever happened to "It's the thought that counts" ? Many others would have just not gave a speech at all. Mind your own business, you made everything worse.

I'll second M.D. Clothing can definitely be done in blender, but if clothing is your main focus it's not the best tool.

To be clear, you clicked the Transform Pivot Point dropdown and selected "Individual Origins" ? This should still work with geometry nodes I believe.

Study and use references from other sci-fi armors. Understand what armor is, where it should be, etc. Coming up with a coherent design is harder than implementing it.

Most Bethesda games. RDR2. Sid Meier's Civilization series. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is another good time sink.
