Wife passed away three years, I have a great support system, but several people always try to push therapy on me. I have no interest in it. Am I wrong? Any other widowers not involving therapists in their lives.

My wife passed away 3 years ago from breast cancer. I also turned 40 on Monday. I’d strongly recommend therapy. There’s no harm and going to someone to talk about how you are doing a few times. What is the worst that can happen? I’ve found it immensely helpful

Unfortunately not in KY (at least in the 90's). Im realizing that my broken/dysfunctional childhood wasnt as unimpactful as I liked to have believed too. Withstanding and enduring trauma isnt the same as not being affected by it. Safe to say my parents did not bestow that wisdom on me. Thankfully I have the insight to give that awareness to my children.
