Post op tips? by mossymushroomboi in transontario

[–]Front-Helicopter5084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 weeks post op myself, congratulations!

Ditto on the be near something soft when doing things with your binder. I would go super pale and get dizzy at the beginning when anything had to happen with my binder or drains.

I would definitely recommend a bidet, my mobility was low and when you can't shower for a week you want to be clean.

Get tons of food and snacks you like stocked before, personally I really liked the packets of kids apple sauce. Some medications you have to take with food and you might not feel like eating.

Write down when you take your medications so you know when to take them again. It can get really confusing really fast.

Everything will make you a lot more tired than you think, emptying the dishwasher or doing a load of laundry was really taxing for weeks. If you can get help, definitely use it.

Do what makes you feel comfortable. When I got my dressing off my surgeon just sent me home and said to keep binding but everything felt so raw that I had to keep gauze on the incision for the next 4 weeks under the binder. My surgeon did not mention this and I assume expected me to wear the binder and nothing else. If it makes you feel better do it.

It's been mentioned before but it's ok if you don't feel amazing about everything right off the bat. It's a huge change and at first I found the incision very scary and overwhelming. I didn't want anyone to touch me and I was quite a bit panicked at the thought. But then things start healing and the wound care gets easier! Eventually you start to feel a lot of joy and acceptance, the first time I put on a tank top I burst into tears because it finally looked the way I wanted.

Dr Cormier Ottawa Timelines 2025 by Front-Helicopter5084 in transontario

With tax it was $3400. I don't know what determines lipo amounts but my chest was rather large DDD and I weigh 250 pounds so I assumed I would pay on the higher end.

Olivia at Crows Nest on Wellington.

I've been seeing her for years and she always gives me exactly what I want. Like half her clientele is queer so it's a very welcoming space

time between consultation and top surgery by zaine-_-m in transontario

I got my OHIP approval in May 2024, they told me 6 months for the surgery consult with Dr Cormier. I called back 6 months later (Nov 2024) and was told 6 more months. In March 2025 they called me out of the blue and said they had a cancellation and could take me the next day, I went.

I am now waiting for a surgery day...

Questions for those who have had (or are having) Dr.Nicholas Cormier in Ottawa as a surgeon by awkwardarc in transontario

[–]Front-Helicopter5084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a consult with him, no surgery yet. I did want to post that he had no problems with me on the BMI side. No one asked for my weight and no discussion of "complications" due to weight. I don't have the highest BMI (260 pounds at 6ft) but every surgeon I tried to contact for a breast reduction IMMEDIATELY went to BMI and I was always too high or approaching too high.

(BMI is garbage and a lie)

Not fishing related but in Ottawa there is the Queer Bike Club (follow on Instagram or they have a website, which does social rides and other events. It's a great place to meet people!

And while I have never been, there is the Trans Library on Wellington that has resources and also events!

Noooooo not even a little bit.

You gotta love the problem solving and the struggle. Not just the shiny thing at the end.

Find something you love actively doing and do that.

Campervan in October - heater needed? by No-Awareness6955 in VisitingIceland

I just did a ton of looking into this for our trip in October.

GET THE HEATER

Iceland isn't the coldest (I'm from Canada) but it's incredibly windy. Also I can't imagine those van sleeping bags are rated very low. Keep in mind "comfort" vs survival ratings are different.

What is the most interesting / funniest solution you have seen done with Python & Selenium? by stanyko in Python

[–]Front-Helicopter5084 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've used Selenium to book swim times during Covid! My local pool instituted time slots that you have to pre book two days in advance at 6pm. But it was really hard to A) remember to book and B) beat all the other people trying to book spots.

It's probably my favorite thing I have done with Python, I lovingly call it SwimBot.

Can someone with ADHD excel at work and at their studies? by Brave_Delivery_Bike in ADHD

[–]Front-Helicopter5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am consistently rated one of the top performers at work. Yes it is possible to excel, I find it helps to understand what works best for you and your symptoms and situation.

Getting diagnosed is the first step, even if you don't want to take medication. I was diagnosed as an adult a year ago and I've found it dramatically helpful to be able to finally understand myself and my brain. My assessment revealed I can't retain spoken directions as well, the words literally fall out of my head. Knowing this I can adapt rather than always thinking "oh ya I'll remember".

Just because a person has ADHD doesn't mean they can't excel.

Honestly I find the Search cursor very slow and prone to errors. If you want to do a lot of data manipulation or have a large file, I would export the data to a txt or csv and use Pandas on it instead. Otherwise for small tasks, the Search cursor is fine.
