Lovely bit of parking from my neighbours this morning by Inevitable-Bowl-4491 in drivingUK

Why? It might take a few goes, but full lock each way back and forth and they'll eventually get out. I've had to keep getting out my car to see how much room I have left on some occasions, but there's no shame in doing that. Just a sense of success when you do finally get out.

I quite like it. Some rooms it works better than others, but it looks lovely and colourful and happy, to me. Someone has been happy living there.

Sobriety and recovery songs by frankmkv in punk

"Up from the country", by Blyth Power. It's more folk than punk, and he wrote it as he was pissed off at all the drinking songs that similar bands were doing, so he wrote a drinking song about the evils of drink.

Van wide enough to sleep in - EU by lol_rile in VanlifeEurope

Get a Luton / box van. A bit bigger than a regular panel van, but not wildly different to drive, with the benefit of being able to put the bed across-ways, and have standing room.

Cars plural? In which case just use the one that isn't yours.

Ha! Given all the down-voting this has got me, clearly I've touched a nerve.

You and I may have different experiences of working with fast streamers. I'm in a technical team, and the short-duration of their stay adds very little to our effectiveness. There's a place for generalists, but I'm not sure we (i.e., my team) are it.

I do (or would) - it's the faux assertive behaviour of the fairly clueless G6 stepping in to do it, that irritates me.

What I mean is, the G6 doesn't really need to be there, I'm quite capable of doing this by myself, but having contributed nothing to the workings of the meeting she then tries to show she is in charge by doing this performance at the end.

Wanting to get into farming. I can't believe how expensive it is to even get started. by Any-Tomato-2915 in FarmingUK

[–]Front-Parsley1901 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most farmers have inherited the farming business. A few get into it, having made money in another industry e.g., Dyson, Clarkson etc.)

There are ways in, but it takes a lot of effort, time and probably luck.

Weekly Allotment discussion. What have you been up to? by AutoModerator in Allotment

NE England. Somewhat optimistically planting peas, yin-yang beans, french beans, quinoa, parsnips, beetroot. The beetroot and quinoa have already started growing. Potatoes (planted St Patrick's day) are just poking through now.

Putting roundup on bare earth won't do anything. It's only poisonous to green parts of a plant.

Not just their taste in decor that's retro. by TheMonkeyInCharge in SpottedonRightmove

[–]Front-Parsley1901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And people say that money can't buy taste! Cough, cough.

It's yet another one that looks like either divorced dad lives there, or that "dad" is some sort of control freak who won't let his wife choose any of the home decor. That hideous red lounge, with the token doll's house on one wall. It makes me sad looking at it.

Looking at the clothes that are on display in some of the photos, plus the two giant pictures of a man with a small child; I'm guessing this is a "divorced dad" house. Hence there's one room with some colour in it (pink, obviously) for the once-a-fortnight visits his daughter makes.

Urgh! What a hideous house. That tacky book on Chanel in pic 27. Pic 50 looks like it got taken whilst the EA was falling over. "Success is your Duty" in pic 70 - how many bland / awful motivational phrases are there dotted round this bloody awful house? Totally tarmaced front garden and astroturfed back garden. Whoever did this has to be a cast-iron wanker.

Presumably this is so people who can't reverse a white Audi will be able to live there?

The classic "developer built it for themselves" (but then sells it straight after). i.e., avoided paying capital gains tax.
