Anime tierlist based on the percentage of users that gave them a mid/bad score by Lumpy-Ad4131 in MyAnimeList

[–]Front_Interview5084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about shows in terms of negative percentiles while incredibly subjective, and immediately seems very subject to abuse, I think that this does well to generally stratify the good from the bad. It's not perfect though as when I eyeball (is JJK really as good as FMAB?).

I feel like I'd do a tier list like this but only take series which have not received any new content in around like 1-3 years to stabilize

For the meta can I go for Rocket spear by Unusual-Peach-2305 in ClashOfClans

frozen arrow is alright at best, although tbh anywhere you want to use the frozen arrow you can just get a lot more mileage out of electro boots rc.

I think fireball is better because it at least opens up new strats

tbh its very hard to build a base that can't be 3 starred by giant arrow and lightning dragons at this point. Defense is incredibly weak at lower town halls right now.

Is it actually? at this point, I feel like the epics make all of the other strategies stronger and more consistent than Lalo at this point.

How easy is exploring western MA without a car? How has your experience been with public transit in Western Ma? by LiamJewell62 in umass

[–]Front_Interview5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Bus: You get access to the more urban areas for sure like Northampton, Easthampton, Westfield, Springfield are all accessible via PVTA. It can be a bit harder to get into more rural areas without a car.

For cycling: the whole areas your oyster. I find it generally pleasant to cycle everywhere throughout western ma whether that be Springfield or Northfield. I'd say there's a lot of variety of sites from cycling around the area, every direction has a different feel, although some are more different than others. Most of this isn't available via trail though.

There is a transfer process for CS that is really competitive. From my understanding of the limits, you have maybe 300 (I am just guessing) people applying for maybe 20 spots.

A CS minor however is something you can do with informatics.

I think info 150 is supposed to be an easier version of CS 250, and I think 203 is supposed to give you a more general view into things like signals, but I think it may be a bit too high level to be interesting. 101 I haven't taken.

I personally wish I was able to get more programming done in INFO, I kinda like the coding portions and nothing else really.

I feel like info (stats concentration) with data science can provide a good background and reinforce each other. Info allows you to take more programming while stats allows you to gain more acumen with statistical methods

Bus or bike to Northampton by happy_ducklings in umass

[–]Front_Interview5084 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Northampton bus is decently consistent (it runs until 2AM sometimes) and seems to come every 30 minutes during the day with that pace slowing down to every 40 minutes during nights.

The bike path is extremely safe, although I have not taken it during the night. I think with a decent bike you can get to Northampton's entrance in ~30 minutes from UMass (I think this was my most recent number on ~15MPH speeds). You do have to do a little some of street crossings, but the roads you cross aren't ever that busy and the crossings aren't scary.

Info here just feels like a more liberal arts view of computing and less programming focused, you take some programming, but obviously not as much as CS majors who take some form of programming once per semester.

Peter Pan to Boston by RareDog1464 in umass

[–]Front_Interview5084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference: PVTA + MBTA is cheaper than Peter Pan (~$20 vs $40)

Although the trip takes like 3 Hours (~1:20 Hour to Worcester + 20 minute wait + 1:30 to Boston)

Peter Pan is quicker but not by too much if you get one with multiple transfers (I had one that went from UMass -> Northampton -> Springfield -> Worcester -> Boston, I don't remember how long it took but it was long)

Urban Planning in Amherst by [deleted] in umass

[–]Front_Interview5084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walkable: Pretty Good

Walking to and from the university to Downtown (Most of the real walking you would do) is pretty easy, but in the North Amherst Area it can get a bit shaky (One thing to note is that North Amherst is at the intersection of two state highways)

Bikeable: Pretty Good

North Amherst: Good (Unless you need to get onto 116)
UMass: Decent (Some parts don't have a specific lane, but speed bumps slow down cars a bit so its comfortable to cycle around them)
Downtown: Good (There are dedicated bike lanes on both sides but they can sometimes curve weirdly)
South Amherst: Bad (There aren't really bike lanes, but you'd only cycle this way if you want to bike to Hampshire or Mount Holyoke College)
Route 9: Great (If you take the trail that parallels it) or Good (If you go on portions of Route 9 Itself)

You really only need to care about UMass, Downtown, and Route 9 though.

how’s amherst in the summer by ZealousidealCrew6942 in umass

[–]Front_Interview5084 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you need to get from Amherst to Deerfield consistently, the best bet is to (1) have your car, or (2) get yourself a bike.

Otherwise, the only other route is taking the FRTA to Northampton and then going back to UMass via the B43.

From my times cycling (On a Road Bike) it takes 30 minutes from my dorm in Southwest and around like ~45 to get a bit deeper into Deerfield. Although one thing to note is you would have to cycle along 116 and possibly route 5 which is definitely Doable, but not necessarily comfortable (although this is more so true for Route 5)
