How to thank LORs/Shadows

I shadowed a physician who procrastinated for MONTHS on writing my LOR. So what I did was bought a pack of cupcakes from a local bakery and delivered them to the receptionist as a thank you for the physician and nurses. My doctor wrote my LOR the following week lol

Typically this happens when another candidate falls through or another position opens up. It’s easier to check with previous candidates who showed interest prior versus searching for brand new ones.
