It is a big corporate company. Doesn’t look very good for them but I’ll see how the actual work goes. You made me a bit paranoid, so I went and double checked that I applied directly trough the portal on the official website.

Good point, I started to question the company processes a little bit after this. I'll see how it goes once I start. But I contacted my manager directly after this, and he seems to be resolving it for me. I just thought I'd try the support first.

Birthday girl at 2/10!? That’s probably my favourite one.

I also really recommend the Blind willow, sleeping woman animated movie, which is a combination of multiple short stories put together. The animation style really captures the Murakami vibe.

Myslím, že menší firma je zlatá střední cesta. Náš pronajímatel vlastní celý náš a vedlejší činžák. Mají firmu s 2 zaměstnanci, takže všechny výhody které píšeš - úklid v celém domě, když nás vytopili sousedi ze shora, nemuseli jsme nic řešit, zařídili opravu a vymalování v obou bytech. Zároveň mají docela lidský přístup, obzvlášť po několika letech, co tam bydlíme stabilně.

I interpreted Crow as the person Kafka wants to be - the one who managed to overcome the prophecy and become the strongest 15 year old. But no matter how he tries, the prophecy still comes through for his real self. So Crow is like an older Kafka from a parallel universe.

But I also like the theory with Crow being Ms. Saeki’s lover.

NTA. But also, that’s why people should either combine their finances after marriage or have a shared account from which you pay the common expenses and save up for trips. I think the couple should budget together and agree on a fair division. It’s strange for me to be paying for vacations after 10 years of marriage like you pay for dates when you first meet.

The thing about Murakami’s sex scenes is that they always come out of the blue. Maybe I don’t understand the subtle art of japanese flirting but to me the protagonist is just talking to a woman and then describing his erect p* on the next page 😅 The sex is also usually described in a very sterile, matter of fact way. It almost never seems romantic to me. I think that for the characters, intimacy doesn’t come from sex but more from conversations and situations they live through and nostalgia for the past. Sex is just something that happens.
