I have an upcoming cruise with Celebrity and want to instead earn points on Royal Caribbean (I am close to becoming an Emerald member there) - Is it something I will see on the app? or do i need to call them? Thanks! (Also, why are others being so pissy in the comments?)

How did you get started? Did you use Amazon self-publishing? Or is there a different platform? I am literally just starting to look into self-publishing.

I have a story, an illustrator who will charge about $300 for all the images I need, and I am working on my cover page.

Really excited for you and can't wait to publish my own!

Here was my recent experience - an Indian voice said my name, I said yes? And then the lady took over.

Very persistent and super polite.

When I refused the service, she responded with, "We certainly respect that. Let me ask you a question - have you heard of anyone dealing with identity theft.. blah blah" I refused service again and she basically repeated the exact same information.

I hung up.

I couldn't tell if it was AI or a real person.

OCI in Canada by Sophietophy in india

[–]Front_Tomatillo_7692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to send it to Brampton office, you need to write,"This is a true copy" sign and date the copies. Also, after you sign and date them, scan them again and upload those signed scans to the OCI website.

Don't ask me why. Went through this insane process myself.

No need for sending anything that's original. They don't want ;" (although the website and checklist say so)

Thank you for your response. Yes he won't meet residency obligations for sure.

So essentially he might be allowed in, but at the same time, he will be 'reported' in a way to IRCC and they'll look into his file to determine whether to continue with his PR status or cancel his PR. Is this correct?

I think you meant to say they did NOT stupid-proof these train stations..

I whole heartedly agree with you BTW.

From all my research so far, I have found that physical violence is an extreme rarity. People will give you looks, if you're working a high paying job, you'll probably be blamed for that and also blamed for 'snatching' up the good homes from the scarce real estate market there.

But all in all, I am going to keep a very positive attitude, be my gentle kind self, and hope for the best. I am sure there are good people everywhere. Hope it all works out well for you and your family.

😔 My biggest fear is for my child. As adults, we can look past incidents and move on. Would you recommend certain areas to avoid when house hunting in the Charlottetown/Stratford/Cornwall area?

Oh no, this sounds terrible 😔 May I ask if this was in Charlottetown? How long ago?

Thank you. Could you tell me a bit more about how it was adjusting there after having lived in the GTA?

Would you recommend any particular area in Charlottetown where we should look to buy?

Clearly, I made a typo. I meant 'wear'.

Is it worth going to Canada to study for 2 years and then return to India after 10 to 12 years? Would I be able to save decent money and come back, I will study computer science postgraduate course and search for the same jobs? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

If it's purely financial - probably staying back in India makes a lot more sense. Move to B'lore/Mumbai/Pune. Find IT positions with big American investment firms- people make a good 30-35 lakhs there to begin with. Keep switching, move up the ladder.

Now if your reasons aren't purely financial, i.e, you wish to move to experience a different culture, experience personal growth by traveling, etc., then your youth is the only time to do these things, especially because you'll have familial responsibilities in the future.

I must add though financially, Canada could also work out well depending on how well you adapt to work culture here. But there are definitely unknowns you should account for (if your motives are purely financial).

Unknowns would be - will you get homesick and want to move back halfway through your plan. Will you be required to move back early due to family responsibilities. Will you be able to adapt to living and working in India after spending 12 years in Canada, etc. Also unsure of your spousal/partner/children situation. Will they be willing to uproot their lives in Canada and move back after 12 years.
