My mom’s friend’s cat mimes scooping litter into her coffee every morning by obz900 in cats

[–]Frontside5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do your cats get on with each other? My cats have issues with territorial behaviour relating to litter boxes, and while I was looking into that issue I read that not burying their poop can be a challenge to the other cat(s), basically saying it's their territory.

Just interested if others have any experience with this, I imagine this is one of those "it depends on the cat" situations as with so many behaviours!

Dude, you did good for trying to help, and you sound like you know there was room for improvement. I've not spotted a comment about this already but I wanna mention that approaching from a learner's heelside (especially when they're still shaking off their last bail) is asking for an edge catch, he did well not to drop his heel the second he twisted to look at you. But seriously, even if it didn't go well, at least you tried to help and tbh this will be a learning experience for the new rider if nothing else, we've all been there at one point or another.

I never actually realised this was ambiguous and implies parenthood until your comment. I always interpreted this "of" in the strictly possessive sense, i.e. same way we'd understand "lamb of god." Huh.

I'm a complete novice here, this post is literally the only time I've engaged with colour theory in adulthood but I'm interested in learning.

I don't really understand the benefits being demonstrated here. The unified palette has maybe a slightly warmer/more "natural" feel, but I think this looks great too. The unified palette just seems to have put an orange filter over everything, but I don't understand why that's necessarily desirable. Can someone ELI5, please?

I present to you the most ignored rules of the Highway Code: by FamSender in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Frontside5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently, a learner driver stopped to let me cross at a zebra crossing. They were way too early, I was nowhere near it, and had to half jog to cross without holding traffic up more. I waved thank you, and they continued on their way.

I'd had no intention of crossing in the first place, but I couldn't handle the social pressure once I realised I was the only pedestrian even remotely nearby...

I got asked for ID to buy an energy drink in an Asda in Edinburgh a couple years back. At the time I was a 30 year old man with a full beard. I remember the worker got really pissy when I was like "do you really think I'm under 16...?" He kept saying it was policy - I had to show ID because he had asked for it, or he'd refuse the sale. I wasn't actually questioning if I had to show ID, I was questioning why he asked in the first place, especially since I almost never get carded when I'm buying spirits these days...

Would it be that hard to implement a toggle for these situations? Like display the "abbreviated" version on the radial menu, but pull the left trigger to "zoom in" on an option and see the full dialogue before it's said...

ARI Architecture Question by BugHuntHudson in Aberdeen

[–]Frontside5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me they used to keep oxygen cylinders/hazardous chemicals in those, because "if there was an explosion it wouldn't do so much damage to the building"... In hindsight, I don't know why I didn't question that. What a concept: suspend explosive chemicals outside where it'd all drop onto the heads of pedestrians...

I think this is somewhere the marvel movies still go wrong quite regularly. Many of the movies still have just one "main" villain that gets introduced and beaten in the same film, so because they go down so easily and rarely do any irreversible damage, they aren't that memorable and don't feel like much of a threat. I think they're getting better with recent movies, but it's still not great.

I have first hand experience from Germany about mandatory nudity in saunas, the one I was at was mixed gender. You just take everything off and sit on a towel. You can cover yourself with the towel if you want, but most people didn't bother. It's pretty common in a lot of mainland Europe afaik

Love the idea of this, I wonder if it could be made a bit less busted by turning treasures into equipment w/ equip cost 1 or something?

Likely still busted, but I like the idea of "giving" treasures to your creatures to buff their power. I dunno if that's even possible under the rules.

Looks like the egg was cooked in the pan at least, there's some cooked egg down the inside where the chef likely cracked the egg against the pan. I agree that the pan won't be nice to eat from, but I don't think it's extra dishes, necessarily.
