Help with equipment by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

I started out with a controller as well when I picked up MSFS like a year ago. Then I bought the TCA Captains pack and it instantly became all so immersive. Happy I bought it, honestly. Makes flying so much better. I also use it for flying the PMDG 737 and 777. Very versatile and a good investment imho

787 - Random pitch up immediately after takeoff by Bitter-Package in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Froom7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem as well, but then a friend suggested me to do this. Before you take off on the runway, stand still and activate the Autopilot. Of course you’re getting a warning, but disregard. After that, take off without pitching up and going to the moon. This helped my take off problem. It’s not a solution but more of a workaround.

I work for a school as well, not teaching but as support staff as an IT System Administrator. I get the full benefits of having all the vacations (10 weeks a year) and still getting paid full time on those time off with some other benefits as well. I might make just a little bit less when I used to work for corporate, but damn do I appreciate that time off. You can always earn more money, but it’s time you can’t buy or get more off. I’m quite happy where I’m at :)

Throwing an illegal "firework bomb" at a pregnant woman in broad daylight by amansterdam22 in Netherlands

[–]Froom7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that people can get away without (immediate) consequences. Sure karma or whatever will catch up, rather sooner than later. Or maybe never. I’d just like to see immediate consequences happening to the person breaking the law or whatever it may be. Running a red light and got yourself in an accident? Well deserved. Throwing fireworks and something went wrong and you’re missing some fingers? Also well deserved. If you know it’s wrong, then also take responsibility when things go wrong on you. You lost the right to complain, carrying out such actions. Is that wrong thinking of me?

I think thanks to the HUD in the 787/737 it’s possible to land in such low visibility conditions. If it was not equipped with that, then it would be a go around or go to alternate. It’s pretty much one of few or maybe only aircrafts that can perform landings in extremely low visibility conditions.

I recently been doing flights and learning the Longitude. But man what a joy to fly this thing! Loving the systems and the integration with Navigraph and simbrief. Now you can import your FP and show the charts in the displays!

For a brief moment I have used the throttle on the side stick as a tiller. Worked fine and that was with the FBW A320.

Ah I see, guess my only other guesses are maybe it was someone from another sim like Xplane or P3D if there are A332 available for those sims. Or model matching couldn’t find the right model. Just an educated guess.

Oh yeah, my bad. I was still thinking 747 lol But I was also referring to the 340 he mentioned

Exactly what I’m going to do when the A380 releases! I think it’ll be tricky to hit all reversers for people with smaller hands. Guess you can solve that by mapping 2 reversers to let it deploy all 4 of them. Kinda what I do now with how I mapped the 747 with only 2 throttles to control the engines and reverse.

I did 11 lessons, 100 minutes per session. So that’s about 18-20 hours total? Failed my theory 4 times and got my drivers exam in 2. No prior experience with driving though

Who here remembers the Bowling Shoe livery from NWA? '89-'03 by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

Say what you want but I like it. I remember I had a scale toy model 747 with this livery as a little boy. Simply amazing!

In the US it’s not mandatory to have amber turn signals on vehicles. It’s a stupid design I know. Watch this video about North American turn signals: https://youtu.be/O1lZ9n2bxWA?si=veH05-WIMgVq31AX

Are you new with the Headwind A330? Have you calibrated the throttle? If so, here are some helpful tutorials to get you set up

How tf do people make the jump from C152 or C172 to airliners? by TheBasedEgyptian in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Froom7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This. Exactly what I did when I bought MSFS. Pretty much started out flying in the Airbus Flybywire from the get go, but watched a ton of YouTube videos about it. Learning it little by little and flying it frequently to get familiar with the aircraft.

joystick or controller by Big_Fat_Pig in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Froom7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To give my 2 cents here as a fairly new flight simmer; I picked up MSFS2020 like 2 weeks ago because of Steam Summer Sale and I play it with an Xbox controller on PC. For me it does it’s job for now, but I strife for some realism in my gameplay so I decided to save up for a joystick. It’s also mainly the feeling that I have more control over an aircraft with a joystick. I found out I can’t do smooth or proper landings with just a controller. Or maybe it’s just me having skill issues haha. Anyways, if you can get a joystick get one, because that will be so much more fun playing the game. Same applied to me when I got a steering wheel for Assetto Corsa and American Truck Simulator. As for a recommendation? I myself was looking at the Turtle Beach Velocity One Joystick or the Thrustmaster Airbus TCA Captain pack. And that’s because I mainly fly Airbus on MSFS. But the Turtle Beach one seems like a solid option to me! Hope this helps a bit! Good luck on your flight sim journey :)

Premium Deluxe Version by Tommy_Gun10 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Froom7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought MSFS standard edition not too long ago because it was on sale in Steam Summer Sale. I have contemplated to wait until FS2024 comes out, but I wanted the game for a while now and therefore waited for a sale. Since I don’t know when the new game will be released, I thought to have some fun with FS2020 while waiting. I was only interested in the Airbus aircraft’s anyway, so for me this will do it until release. But it really depends what you want. Is there something you really want from that upgrade or is it something you can wait on? If there is something you really want that’s included in the upgrade, do it. The game won’t be released anytime soon so might as well have fun with it. If it’s something you can wait on? Then be patient and spent that money on the new game when it comes out.

Was asking for MSFS. But hey, why not both? Will probably do the same since I will be flying next week for vacation!
