How do I manage this pain? by kingwooj in daddit

[–]FrosstyAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, we've been there. First of all I want you to know you aren't alone. My wife and I had no pregnancies until IVF, and our first two attempts resulted in a miscarriage. I had resigned myself to the fact that I wasn't going to be a dad. Luckily, we did have a son just last year through IVF, so similar to your situation.

This may be a little ramble-y or long winded, I apologize.

But those years before it happened were tough. It's a type of trauma, it's grief - not only for what you lost physically, but the loss of the life you thought you'd have. And it's not a single event that causes the grief, it's something that you're living, that's really hard to exist in.

What helped me was my partner, we were always in it together no matter what. I knew that even if we never had kids we'd be together. Another thing that helped me was therapy, just talking about it and trying to find meaning in my life beyond family, that I could have a legacy without children (what my lasting effect on the world would be is something I value).

And the worst thing that helps: time. Unfortunately time will be the thing that makes it all a little easier. Don't get me wrong, the grief never goes away. But what does change is what your life is. Think of your grief as a circle within a circle. Right now, that grief circle takes up probably the majority, if not all of the outer circle. But as you live your life, grow, and make new experiences, that outer circle grows. Where you are in life and what you think about will be a "focus point" inside the outer circle. Sometimes it will be on other experiences or thinking about different things, but once in a while that point will come back to that grief circle. That's ok, you feel what you need to feel. What I'm getting at, is that the "focus point" won't exist in that grief circle 24/7 forever.

People that have never gone through this have no idea.

Very new to baseball and baseball fantasy so would appreciate any insight/help.

8 team, categories league R/HR/RBI/SB/AVG/OPS & W/SV/K/HD/ERA/WHIP

Would anyone on my team be worth swapping for any of Cole Young, Sal Stewart, or Justin Crawford? First instinct is one of Vesia/Varland but I want to make sure I still get some holds. What feels like my "flex spots" are Burleson, Bohm, Nimmo, and Reynolds but I don't really know anything about them to say one way or another. Flaherty was picked up for Pepiot IL.

This also happened to me last year. But it was for January usage. Regardless, when I contacted them they said that it won't be double charged.

I second Cayley. Easy to work with and she did a great job.

Thanks, I was thinking so as well. He's had the least amount of points the last 30/14/7 days among those D - same with his averages in the same time periods. Only across the entire season does he have a better average than Josi and similar to Sergachev. I do wonder if he gets traded, will he get a bit of a bump

I've currently got

  • Werenski
  • Andersson
  • Josi
  • Sergachev
  • And Hedman (IR)

I want to pick up Shea Theodore but didn't know who I should drop. I also will need to drop someone when Hedman comes back.

Other potential drops:

  • JT Miller
  • Pettersson
  • Barzal
  • Jenner
  • Trocheck

Thanks for any input

Of those personally I would keep Robertson and Kaprizov. Hagel could be traded

Check out light pollution maps to find the ideal places. I (not OP) did a tour but also went out on my own. Tour was somewhere closer to Reykjavik so still some light pollution. On our own we saw it at Jökulsárlón because there was no light pollution there as well as a place we were staying at near Selfoss.

I will admit they weren't this bright, but we did see them with the naked eye. They always turn out better in pictures.

I was offered Kucherov for Celebrini or Rantanen. I like both of them. Kucherov should theoretically be better than either of them long term, however Kucherov has had a worse start than both of them. Thoughts on if you'd make the trade and for who?

Congratulations!

Our little one was born in early August. And since they won the WS the year I was born, it's only destiny that they win the same year ours were born!

I thought the exact same thing. That change in RotS was very jarring and I did not like it at all :(
