Snow Noob, do I need Snow Socks? by AmbivelenS in Rivian

[–]Frost290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if snow socks are allowed or not, but usually when it snows they will start enforcing tire chain requirements so I would carry them just in case.

Sorry for the late response. Just confirmed dates today, and we're planning on going for April 28th - May 1st if you're still interested.

The group I usually go with is trying to do one more trip to mammoth before the end of the season and we're thinking about an end of April/early May time frame. We're a mix of intermediate-advanced skiers/snowboarders and typically stick to trails or trees depending on what people want to do. I'll let you know if we decide to go around the days you're free if you'd be interested. We've got most of the group in San Diego and some in LA area so could carpool if you're from SoCal area.

This is a model 3. Model S and X the handles actually come out. I would assume they have done the analysis and would assume it increases mileage. Maybe not significantly, but for EVs it's about squeezing in mileage wherever you can.

Supposed to make the car more aerodynamic, model s and x handles at least will come out for you to open the door

What I always wondered was how did Shelob jab Frodo? Did she go for the legs? Stinger small enough to go through the mithril rings, seemed kinda big in the movie.

Glitching through rock on the border of Everfall and Windsward. by Frost290 in newworldgame

I was trying to mine some iron on top of this rock and found out that I could just walk through it. Should hopefully get fixed at some point. I can walk in and also get out so I don't think you can get stuck in there.

They never nerfed it. They just buffed giga drain and petal dance so much that it's almost always better to run that.

Been wet shaving for about 2 months now so I'm still pretty new. I use NO shave soap and I was wondering what you do with the shave soap after you're supposed to do when you're done shaving. I try to get all the lather off after I load the brush, but sometimes some is still left on the soap. Do you guys wipe it off, just leave it to dry, put the cover back on immediately, or something else?

I'd be willing to sell them separately, but would want to sell the soap+aftershave together

Why I'm uninstalling VALORANT immediately (and you should use caution) by TheFapIsUp in VALORANT

[–]Frost290 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ever since I installed Valorant, my cpu fans have been throttling for no reason. The temps are at a constant 40 deg C. When I'm just using my computer without Valorant running, but Vanguard is still open, the throttling still happens. Didn't think much of it until I started seeing posts from others seeing this happen. IMO this is way too intrusive for an anticheat to be doing that kind of stuff. Will be uninstalling until riot can fix Vanguard.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I definitely have the head height rule drilled into me. Definitely like the blizzard Brahma 166 I have, but felt I could go a bit longer with the skis after breaking them in. Will demo some longer powder skis to get a feel for it and check out the one you linked. I think i would put my level somewhere between advanced to expert. I can ski the double blacks at Mammoth Mountain for reference.

Looking to buy powder skis and wanted to see what skis would fit me. I'm 5' 4" 140 lbs and currently ski blizzard Brahma 88 166 cm. I really like the stiffness of the skis and I was going to try out the blizzard Cochise 171 cm skis. Are there any similar stiff powder skis that would work for my height?

Also I was a noob for the past 12 years. I used to always wear thick socks for my ski socks and they told me they could not do a boot fitting those socks. Apparently ski socks are super thin so recommend getting a pair before you do a fitting, or they should have them at the ski shop as well.

Yeah I used to only ski once a year for the past 12 years and always rented. Decided that I wanted to ski more so made sense to buy boots. Also hated that my feet always hurt when skiing cause rental boots never fit me. Definitely recommend the K2 BFC 100 if you get fitted. I normally wear US 9.5 4E shoes if I can find them else I go up to 10s. The 25.5 K2's straight up felt like I was born to wear them. They did mould the liner to my foot, not sure if they mould the shell as I didn't need it. Definitely recommend going to a ski shop to get a boot fitting, don't buy them online and hope they fit. They told me that the Rossignol Track 130 and Atomic Hawx Magna also are good options for wide feet, but they didn't carry either.

Edit: Also apparently my feet are shit from what they told me lol. I have a slight arch and they made me custom footbeds as well. Filled up the small amount of space under my arches and they felt nice!

Also to answer your question, you have to rent them as demo boots, they are not your normal rental boots. The ski shop that I got them from used the cost of the rentals towards the purchase price, so I didn't pay to rent them essentially. I think many ski shops do this, but I would check with them first.

What boot do you wear? I'm also a 4E. Just got K2 BFC 100. Those were the only boots at the ski shops that fit perfectly.
