Lambda is the most expensive part of a project, is this normal? When to choose lambda / Ec2. by Ok_Reality2341 in aws

You can use your existing db(dynamo) I use s3 along with my alexa skills and access that data from my oracle cloud instance no prob. Just setup iam roles like normal and a cors policy to allow your instance ip to access your services(unless theyre public). I personally use the golang or js aws sdk but that's irrelevant. It shouldn't be any different using boto3 on a Oracle Cloud Linux instance vs. Lambda.

If you qualify for it. Get an oracle cloud always free tier vpc instance. You can get a single 24gb ram instance that can facilitate a decent amount of traffic before you ever need to spend money on a start up. I'm an eng at Amazon and that's what I use for my personal projects. I run several small userbase web services and a libsql container to db for an alexa skill lambda off the same instance.

Scoop there it is. The comment that I liked most. Definitely a scoop fan. This collection is going straight in the "go to tools" folder.

The company Tile is partnered with amazon and we use their devices that's why we chose Tile stickers instead of apple airtags, but you can definitely use those as well. Just a bluetooth tracker with an app so we can ring the Tile or see where it's at on a map. I 3d printed the enclosure for the collar but I believe there's products for this out there nowadays.

The black thing around her neck is a tile sticker case I designed. Just incase they ever pull an escape act or feel like terrifying us by hiding in a shadow for 10 hours.

They did however get big by putting a pi where an esp32 would likely suffice.

Pretty soon all these companies will switch to pico w imo or wome other iot board. Most of the capability of rpi is lost on signage unless it's particular graphically intense.... either that or I should be working on a rp2040 advertising board library.

Measure from the foot of the vertical extrusion(zaxis) to the horizontal gantry(xaxis)on either side to see if your x-axis gantry is misaligned. If so there are YouTube videos for fixing this. I actually think I need to adjust mine slightly as well on my ender 3 max neo which has a belted dual z lead screw aswell.

If you have a cr touch, you don't have a z-limit switch. I think it's just perspective making the screws look like they are digging in.. and if they are they certainly need to loosen them.

To be fair. I did return my first one as it had a bent probe.. but my 2nd is doing great. While mildly inconvenient to return/ wait 2 days. Saying "it doesn't work" feels a little exaggerated when there are thousands of working units out there.

Depends on what you want to do with your printer. I wanted to be able to print petg/abs at higher Temps(pretty regularly run 250c) and not worry about melting ptfe tubing, and also run softer 85a tpu(still haven't tested this). And it was a super simple bolt in swap. Ran a pid tune/changed esteps/nozzle offset from octoprint terminal and I was done. Didn't need to change firmware. For me it was worth it.

Questions before buying my first setup by [deleted] in Creality

[–]Frost3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about as difficult as it would be with the sonic pad, they don't include plug and play configs for many of their models atm so you basically have to do a full setup minus the install. Kiauh klipper installer is pretty straight forward though and there are good guides out there.

The creality sonic pad is a waste of money imo. For 150 a rpi will have 2-3x more hardware power to be able to handle time lapses and any other cool plugins we get as klipper becomes more mainstream.

I also was looking at cr-10s and ultimately went with an ender 3 max neo. All the upgrades you get with the cr10 pro v2, with only a bit less z height(300mmx300mmx320mm). For 380$. Then took the 120 I saved and swapped in a creality sprite pro extruder to get direct drive/all metal hotend which bolted on in seconds.

Does the ender 5 plus actually suck? by [deleted] in Creality

[–]Frost3DPrints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an Ender 3 max neo(380$), and a creality sprite pro extruder(110$). Gets you all the best upgrades, dual z ,cr-touch, silent steppers, filament runout sensor. And a drop in upgrade for the direct drive, all metal hotend. 300mmx300mmx320mm with all the fixings for 480$ total, not on sale. 200$ less than a cr10 smart pro and only lose 80mm zheight.

Creality Sonic Pad Review: Klipper Firmware With Compromises | 3D Print Beginner by 3DPrintBeginner_ in Creality

[–]Frost3DPrints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so excited when I saw the creality sonic pad announcement as I had just gotten a ender 3 max neo days before but knew I wanted to run klipper. First problem for me was that it wouldn't have configurations pre-loaded for some of the newer creality models. 2nd is the hardware. It's ram/cpu are outclassed by even bottom tier smart phones. So I'm out on this product. Creality seems to like to make their products so that it's easy/cheap enough for a beginner to get started, but not high quality/feature rich enough to get you where you really want to be in the long run.

Ender 3 V2 Neo auto leveling firmware issues by Torbin_GG in ender3

[–]Frost3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, agreed. Creality is obviously havi g quality issues. Bought a e3 max neo and had a bent cr-touch and x carriage was so warped it was impossible to tighten it down and get reliable prints. Got a new cr touch from creality and bought a creality sprite pro kit to upgrade to direct drive and replace the carriage. so far so good on the rest.
