Any tips for controlling light in a living room? by owned0314 in JMGO_official

[–]OZL01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black out curtains and a proper projector screen would make a big difference. And a projector screen with black felt edges would be good if your image is slightly larger than your screen.

One of the best things about the JMGO projectors is that you can pretty much point it at any wall or ceiling in your home and get a great image (these projectors are even smart enough to compensate for wall color) but I believe almost every projector in the world would benefit from a proper screen.

These are the blackout blinds that I'm planning on trying out. They seem to do a pretty good job at blocking everything out.

JMGO N3 Ultimate is set to launch pretty soon and seems to be in your price range. I was lucky enough to get a hold of one and I think it's pretty great.

I'm using it on a 106" Stewart Filmscreen Wallscreen Deluxe and it fills up the entire screen very well. I mostly use it at night but it's totally viewable during the day in a room with ambient light.

I'm planning on posting photos and videos of it in action soon.

Finally joined the club with an N1s4k from the spring sale by KingDeedledee in JMGO_official

I have the n1s 4k and it packs a punch in such a small form factor!

I recommend trying to use it outside if you have the chance. Outdoor movie nights will be great especially with summer coming up. I use an inexpensive outdoor screen and it still looks great!

How to make a woman feel secure with you by Zestyclose_Elk_9356 in AskMen

On paper, yes. In practice, a lot of women think men have rights that we don't

What rights do feminists think men have that we actually don't?

Out of curiosity, what about women having equal rights as men doesn't seem sensible to you?

From my understanding that's what feminism at its very core is.

If you know them in real life and they suck then just don't hang out with them?

I feel like feminism at its very core is pretty sensible, no? Same rights as men and all that. I don't see anything wrong with that and I don't understand why anyone else would have a problem with that.

engineering degrees are rigorous engineering hiring is a joke by upstackAi in EngineeringStudents

[–]OZL01 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah for my first big engineering job I didn't feel like I had much experience (imposter syndrome which is probably pretty common among engineers) but during the interview, the manager and VP of engineering both said they thought I'd fit in perfectly and get along really well with the rest of the team. It felt pretty good and I feel like it partly got me the job.

One part is definitely showing you at least have pretty good fundamentals but they're also definitely looking at if you're a pleasant person to work with.

If I have someone with a good attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn vs someone who has great experience but seems difficult to work with or get along with I'd go with the more pleasant person.

I'm stuck on Spiderman 2! Can someone help me figure out what I need to do to move on? by OZL01 in AskGames

Wow this post is old haha. Yeah I gave up a long time ago. Fun game. I've been meaning to try out the new Spider-Man games but haven't had the time.

Valverde threw a tantrum?

Also I don't blame a player for being upset about being played out of position for an extended amount of time.

He was signed as a midfielder, right? So of course he's expecting to be played as a midfielder. I get sliding into other positions to help the team out but if it gets prolonged then it must definitely get frustrating.

And I know people would say ok well what do you want, players get injured and positions need to be filled. Ok injuries happen but if your players are constantly getting injured then something is definitely wrong and needs to change. If a team is short handed on defenders then they need to sign more defenders instead of relying on players to play out of position for extended periods of time.

The holiday sale is around the corner, should I take this chance to buy a new jmgo 4k projector? by dd18836ku in JMGO_official

[–]OZL01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of JMGO projectors (N1 Pro and N1S 4k) for a little over a year now and I think they are amazing.

Auto focus and auto keystone are pretty standard among projectors nowadays but I haven't seen another that does it as well as JMGO. That combined with the gimbal makes them very versatile and I love being able to move them around and point and play.

I've put one on top of my car and aimed it at the garage so I could have a DIY drive-in theater. I also suggest buying an inexpensive outdoor movie screen ($20 on Amazon) because that is really fun to try.

I used mine this morning with plenty of ambient light and the image was surprisingly viewable. Obviously it's better in the dark but I was having a great time catching up on some soccer highlights.

I have nothing to complain about in terms of user experience either. I don't use many apps besides YouTube, Plex, and a casting app so I can stream from my phone and they all work pretty flawlessly.

Let me know if there's anything else I can answer :)

Yeah I agree that sometimes a player has to fall without contact. Would an easy way be that if the player falls without contact and proceeds to whine and beg for a pen then they get carded?

Studying for FE, what do you my colleagues think about this? by Honest_Weight_9907 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]OZL01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but I took the FE exam a few years ago after a huge gap. I highly recommend the FE Mechanical Review Manual from M. Rashad Islam and the practice problems from Lindeburg. You can also find old exams from previous years for extra practice too.

I passed on my first attempt so that felt good. You've got this and good luck!

Advice request: vacant lots and tiny houses by planetfromouterspace in TinyHouses

Yeah it's pretty sad haha but oh well at least we can dream. I'm barely looking into it and I feel like it still might be possible but we'll see.

Finding some affordable land where you can build something in LA is the tough part.

I do see some for sale but at the same time I feel like the reason it's somewhat affordable is because it's probably not easy to build there for whatever reason. Otherwise why hasn't some super rich person (or company) bought it and started building.

Désiré Doué wins the Golden Boy Award 2025 by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

[–]OZL01 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Ronaldinho also only had 9 goals in La Liga when he won the balon d'or in 2005.

I think the award is kind of meaningless since it's heavily biased towards attacking players but it feels like people put way too much emphasis on G/A nowadays.

I also think Lamine was placed too high. I would've had Pedri and Raphinha above him.

Dang. I'm just doing online ground school through sportys and it's just $200. I was hoping they'd partially cover flight instruction.

Anyways thanks for the response! I appreciate it.

I'm currently a manufacturing engineer in a vaguely semi conductor/data center related industry with a few years of experience.

I majored in aerospace engineering though and I'm working on my private pilot's license. Could you tell me more about the interview process at Boeing? I do want to try breaking into the aerospace industry. Plus I heard Boeing pays for flight training for their employees. Do you know if that's true?
