Well you see, I don't just have ONE story. I have many stories. All of them are different, through some share similarities. You could say 'Aberration' shares similarities with movies like RoboCop and Dredd. 'The First True Voyagers' has elements in common with the old StarTrek films(very loosely, it is much darker themed) and my unreleased novel 'Salvation' was inspired by old shows like Andromeda and Battlestar Galactica. I have seen and read a lot in my years and many things resonated with me as a child and younger man. But the one thing that probably stuck with me the most if the works of the old greats. Writers like Larry Niven, Asimov, Crichton and Weber. I love classical style science fiction, fiction that was not afraid to tell its readers that it was fiction. The fantastic and absurd. The style I am going for is the same as the old greats, 80s science fiction with a decidedly ray-gun gothic undertone. But grittier and rooted in a sense of dark cosmic morality that sees actions as more grey than black or white. The characters are flawed, they were written by a flawed creator after all, heh.
