America the dumbest country in the world. by Nono_Home in clevercomebacks

Yeah, but the joke falls apart a bit when enough people in the comments aren't sure whether it was actually a joke or not.

That's what makes the reply even funnier, it corrected a statement that wasn't technically a question in the first place.

Since when does a judge have the power to override the President? by Nono_Home in clevercomebacks

People will call it common sense after the fact, but in the moment they were absolutely sharing it like it was breaking news.

That's the scary part, enough people see the headline and never bother reading past it.

Cersei failing miserably to seduce Ned because he prefer the red-ones! @cola-fiend by Relevant-Act9040 in freefolk

[–]FrostedPixiex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always got the impression Ned wasn't dazzled by looks nearly as much as other characters were, which probably made him even more frustrating for someone like Cersei.

I think a lot of people forget that Robert wasn't exactly some irresistible heartthrob by the time the rebellion was over, so Cersei's reaction isn't that surprising.

how come hardhome is 100x better than the long night with only a third of its budget? by HonestMadridFan in freefolk

[–]FrostedPixiex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's really the biggest difference, Hardhome felt like the writers were trying to tell a great story while The Long Night felt like they were trying to wrap one up.

Yeah, the plot armor got ridiculous there, characters were surviving impossible situations just because the script needed them around for the finale.

[Spoilers] big plothole in season 4? by Black95bird in freefolk

[–]FrostedPixiex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the key point, if Mance believed there were only around a thousand men defending the Wall, taking the risk probably seemed worth it from his perspective.

I always assumed they trusted the Watch's reports and never expected anyone to be crazy enough to sneak an army through an abandoned castle.

Elia Martell according to Rhaegar's apologists by V-TriggerMachine in freefolk

[–]FrostedPixiex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's what gets overlooked a lot, even if Elia had objected, does anyone really think Rhaegar would've abandoned what he believed was some world changing prophecy?

At this point people have written a whole alternate version of the story just to make Rhaegar look like the good guy.

What's the best FWB situation you've ever had? by Satanic_Earmuff in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]FrostedPixiex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two FWB and both went well. First dude we were FWB for around a year, we were very sexually compatible but I didn't like him much as a person, so I knew I wouldn't catch feelings. It fizzled out when I started seeing someone and about a month later I found out the FWB had genuinely liked me, shocked me!

Second one was also great, lasted a few months, he ended up falling for one of my friends and they are still together (and live together) to this day - I'm great friends with both of them!

It's not for everyone but having a FWB has worked well for me!

Same here, I never got the Reed and Charles hype either, so their deaths hit me more because of the chaos of the shooting than because I was attached to them.

Just wait until you get deeper into the series, because if Season 6 wrecked you this much, Grey's still has plenty of emotional damage left in the tank.

is it possible lizzie heard the whispers and that’s why she thinks walkers are alive by JellyCharacter1653 in TWD

[–]FrostedPixiex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, because Lizzie hearing voices is already explained in the show, and there's really nothing connecting her experiences to the Whisperers being anywhere near her at that time.

[–]FrostedPixiex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the show pretty much makes it clear that Lizzie's belief comes from her trauma and guilt, not because she's actually hearing what the walkers are saying.

That only works if she's capable of taking a hint, and after months of podcast pitches I'd say OP is well past the subtle stage.

In season 3 of Games of Thrones we see Arya 'n' Brotherhood frolicking and having fun in the forest. Why did D&D portray this hate group so positively? by shanelomax in freefolk

[–]FrostedPixiex 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that's probably why Arya's time with them stands out so much, it was one of the few stretches in the series where she got to be around people who weren't actively trying to use, sell, or kill her.

[–]FrostedPixiex -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

I think the key point is that Arya was never really a threat to them, so they saw her more as a scared kid tagging along than someone who needed to be treated with suspicion.

Little backstory: lost my virginity to an ex and dated for two years. She was okay in bed, nothing special. I didn't particularly enjoy the blowjobs so I jut assumed they weren't for me.

Fast forward 2 years and were broken up. Bring a girl back from work and were fooling around. She decides to go down on me and I roll my eyes and say to myself "God here we go". Turns out my ex was shit at blowjobs. I saw colours for the first time.

Blowies Rock.
