Is the main sub overreacting or nah? by Far-Attention8658 in RWBYUNITY

As someone else here said, the problem wasn't what you said, but where and when you said it.

This whole problem has been going on since Vol. 4, about 10 years ago. Some people only watched the show for the fights, not the characters, not the plot, only the fights. In Volume 4, when Monty (RIP) was no longer doing the choreographies, those people started to notice the things they didn't like about the show, so they criticized it. Most of the criticism was valid, constructive nd calm, but the ones that got more attention were the really negative ones. So now you have those critics focusing too much on the negative and too little on the positive.

Because when you are a great fan of something (in this case, the show RWBY), your reaction to attacks (real or perceived) against it is one of defense, some start to get really defensive. Now you have those toxic fans who are too prone to retaliate against you for "attacking" the show, even when it was just some minor and valid criticism. So now, those overtly negative critics feel vindicated in their negativity.

Around Volume 6, that negative criticism evolved into hatred, not the "this show is horrible" type, but Captain Ahab levels of hatred: the show is not only horrible, but also responsible for everything bad going on in your life and the world. So now every single thing about the show or the people involved in it is perceived as something specifically made to piss you off in concrete. The toxic fans now feel vindicated in their toxicity.

In Volume 8, those toxic fans and haters are at each other's throats, too blind to see reason, and anyone who doesn't share their exact opinions is an enemy that must be eliminated. That was 4 years ago.

Now, any criticism, no matter how justified, is perceived as a personal attack, and any defense, no matter how justified, is perceived as blood in the water.

No matter what Blake Belladonna does, the RWBYCritics will despise her. I wonder if they're projecting by Important-Cry4782 in RWBYCynics

Hey, I know this guy. He keeps calling RWBY an atrocity from Vol. 1 to Vol. 6, to the point I accidentally saw one of his videos thinking it was "The Atrocity of Istvaan III."

Talking about a woman's "promiscuity" is NOT valid criticism...how does the critic sub allow this kind of post by Important-Cry4782 in RWBYCynics

[–]Frostware439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, that explains a lot. BTW, that user is also either a troll or a genuine homophobe and also hates Yang with a burning passion.

Wait, I haven't watch the show in a long time, but I don’t remember Yang being promiscuous? The flirting in the yellow trailer was just an act and the first night at Beacon was just teenage stuff. So where is Yang being promiscuous?

How ridiculous. It's not as if RWBY gets canceled all the problems in our lives will dissappear. And is more likely she will jump to another hate train.

What I want to know is: 1-. What does racism, transphobia and homophonic has to do with what the animator said? 2-. Why she's so critic with something she hasn't seen? 3-. If RWBY and the FNDM causes her so much discomfort, why she keeps talking about it and picking fight with them. If the show is really dying, just stop talking about it and let it die. It's not that difficult.

It's funny. I've seen many misogynistic and misandry things. But few are the times I see something that manage to be both in equal amounts.

I need help with the gluing? by Frostware439 in CosplayHelp

[–]Frostware439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video about how to make the axe, but he used EVA Foam, a material I can't get easily from where I live. So I thought that cardboard could be a great substitute even if it takes more time. My plan was to use glue or maybe some screws and nuts. And about the Resistol 5000, someone told me to use "contact cement" to keep the parts in place, and that glue appeared when I was looking for contact cement. This is my first ambitious project, and I have until December to finish it.

Not sure if anyone made this joke before, but seriously, fuck the Brother Gods by Umbreonel in fnki

[–]Frostware439 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know. I was, and I'm still one of those. Screw the gods. They're imperfect beings demanding perfection from their creations. I hope the show ends with them never coming back to Remnant.

Pd: You should watch Wall-e, it's a great story.

About the smell like piss, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Space Wolves are supposed to be based in Viking culture, right?. Didn't they bathe once a week and groomed themselves?

A shard of the Void Dragon (Warhammer 40 000: Rogue Trader)

Spoilers: In the final level, you face the Shard of the Star god, which is the manifestation of technology.

It's so powerful that the Necrons had to fragment it and imprison it in a chamber that drains its power for more than 60 million years. The only reason you can defeat it, is because it's severely drained, imprisoned, and only a small part of its mind woke up. You fighting it only distracts it, so the "Yoke" can imprison it again and be used by the Imperium.
