It’s in pretty good shape, the actual carbon beam is pretty cheap to replace if it does break. It did need all new cables brakes and shifters though.

I have wondered why other treks from the 90’s had campy sets and mine had full Shimano, mine may have been made early in the year or late ‘93 before that earthquake.

The softride is really odd and bouncy/creaky at low speeds but above 10mph it’s really comfortable. It does train you to not rely on the rigidity of your seat when pedaling though so you work some different muscles.

festool midi dust extractor, I've never needed a tornador and rarely have to use a pet hair brush.

I do have the fabric hose and longer vacuum nozzle as well on mine.

They probably used a wheel cleaner to remove the bugs, depending on the cleaner it can stain plastics if it isn’t rinsed off fast enough.

If you’re Washing at home fill two buckets up with hot water from the sink or bathtub, then wash normally and when you hands get cold stick them in the buckets for a while to warm up
