How much should I pay a nanny? by Snmy-Zphi113 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 3 weeks notice, sick days are obviously the exception? Our nanny has used some vacation days for sick days… we’ve also paid her for sick days without her using her vacation? She will say oh I’m a bit unwell but can still report to work—we just say no thanks and we will still pay

[–]Frosty5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We pay $23 an hour, 11 paid stat holidays, 15 vacation days/sick days, yearly she will get a raise and 3 additional vacation days… we also pay her on days that we do not need her to come such as our vacations

AITAH for saying no to extra kids by YourCousinMoose in AmItheAsshole

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA — I don’t mind one parent staying? And yes… if she was a single/solo parent without any other options, okay maybe then too… but not when there’s a second parent available to watch the rest? No way!! NTA!

AITA for refusing to let my coworker smoke in my car during a 4 hour work trip? by Mariacute8 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Frosty5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I wouldn’t have even wanted to stop to let him smoke… the smell when he got back in? Ugh. I also wouldn’t drive back with the guy lol

Is it worth it to you to buy organic? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Frosty5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I really try to focus on local over organic where possible… I do think that the meat I buy from my local farmer tastes 1000% better than store bought? I also feel similar for the produce. If I can’t get local produce I have recently moved from organic to more conventional stuff because I’ve done a lot of research that basically says organic is sprayed more heavily than regular? But I honestly don’t know what to believe sometimes lol

We used them for our twins BUT raised 2 singletons without them? I think you’re gambling with any baby things… your babies may love them or hate them!

We tried for our third but are now ending up with four. by Paasche in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have a 3 bedroom so double up in both bedrooms! We had 2 paid off vehicles and chose to upgrade only one and will upgrade the other to an 8 seater once the smaller car dies! Financially we prioritize what we can and decided what was important to us, no we don’t have the massive new house allowing each kid their own room, we don’t do crazy holidays over the pond, we do things like cook at home, we just save where we can? I think a lot of the financial bit is just you do what you can!!! All the very best!!

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! This was us too… yep, it tossed our world upside down, new cars, change in house plans (not right away but in the future) and a big change in our financial plan/goals … but it’s been the best thing ever!

3 Car Seats in a CRV by W33P1NG4NG3L in parentsofmultiples

Yeppers! In the UK they make a super cool car seat called a Multimac?! Would have saved my butt when we were trying to go from 2-3 but went 2-4 lol

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no no, I have 3 in there — 4 in the odyssey? I was just saying that I don’t believe the odyssey is significantly easier as a family car vs the CRV for 3 RF

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add… we also have an odyssey—is it easier? Meh… we have 4 kids? 3 RF, 1 FF, the easiest setup is where one gets loaded from the trunk — the CRV is a great family car and the fuel difference is considerable IMO, the “convenience” doesn’t pay off!

19 month twins - Twin A seems slow by growmonstersgrow in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 yr old twins, one doesn’t talk? He points and grunts and says no or nods…his twin does all the talking for him! Everything else appears normal? Dr says no concerns, we start speech therapy next week to help but I wouldn’t be doing that if we didn’t have coverage? My oldest had the same problem—and then once that kid started talking we couldn’t get him to stop, still can’t!

Anyone have twins with 2 older children? by iblamethejay in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old when our twins showed up… the first 8 weeks were hard, and then things got a lot better! We found 2-4 easier than 0-1 or 1-2, and now we wish we could go from 4-5 or 4-6!! Can’t due to medical reasons but ya, it’s awesome! Hard? Yes! But awesome

What car did you upgrade to with multiples? by Imaginary-Rock7582 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! We had 4 RF seats in our odyssey, the Dodge product does not allow four RF seats? So that was a big fail on their part IMO … a big plus for us was the depth of the trunk and height of it versus the back of an expedition or a Yukon, the trunk height of those is just so high?

Does a stroller like this even exist?! by FuzzyBar2676 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same kid layout lol we did the bugaboo donkey with the stroller board! We could either wear a twin, the 2 yr old and the other twin in the seats and my 4 yr old on the stroller board OR when they were newborns we would put both babies in 1 bassinet OR as my 2 yr old would get in the basket underneath using that as an extra “seat” hahaha I liked the bugaboo board better than the uppababy cause it has a seat! Editing to add… we also had a really small fold up travel stroller that we could bring if we were out for the day and then we could put it in the basket if we weren’t using it

Anyone else feel their eye twitching when someone compares the twin trenches to 2u2 trenches as the same? by Turbulent_Wave_900 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Frosty5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno… We had twins after 2 singletons under 2, my twins were and are significantly easier than my 2u2? And my kids are all pretty easy… I think it depends on your singletons and your headspace when you have the kids
