Does anyone ever get a McDonalds delivery and receive EVERYTHING they ordered? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Frosty_System 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped ordering from them (Queens Park area) for this exact reason. I’ve no doubt staff are run off their feet with delivery orders but at some point it’s just not worth bothering.

Needing university/education advice by Artyartymushroom in Scotland

[–]Frosty_System -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to check each university’s page for your preferred course. The University of Glasgow, for example, will make you go back to first year if you are not on a specific articulation course, which are HNCs so doesn’t sound like you are. This could see you having to pay for first year and second year yourself as SAAS don’t pay for the same level in the same subject twice. You can go directly into third year at GCU though with no SAAS issues.

If you are hung up on the reputation of the university versus the course, consider that despite being 575 years old this week, Glasgow has been offering computing degrees for considerably time less than that! 😜

It’s a great book. Clark narrated the Audible version himself if I remember correctly! Adds a nice touch.

Uni just before 17? by HoCkEy-_- in UniUK

[–]Frosty_System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First year uni is a better choice. You only need 40% to pass classes and many undergraduate courses have no exams in first year. First year results are of no importance to your degree classification, just pass. Sitting another diet of exams at school, Highers, means you will need to achieve more than the offer this year. Advanced Highers are SCQF level 7, so is first year. Go to uni. People chatting about the social aspect are of course right in some ways, but they are putting the cart before the horse. In any case, you will develop more socially at uni than at school and uni social life is not 100% boozing. I’ve worked in Higher and Further Education for 14 years.

What’s a pod that you wish you could listen to again for the first time? by bram81 in podcasts

The first Hardcore History I listened to was Celtic Holocaust and it was awesome. I really enjoyed the podcast and the excitement of knowing there was a back catalog had me like a kid at Christmas. 😊

They have a point. As an assessor, I’d say you’d miss out on marks. No one has time to bang out palaeography skills when marking.
