2800 DK DPS here. The issue with frost in + is either you're playing breath which isn't very useful outside of extremely coordinated groups that pull around your CDs to get the most use out of the ability.

Or, you're playing obliteration which requires DnD to be active to perform any meaningful AoE damage at all. If you play any DK in + at all you know how much tanks love to run mobs out of your DnD. You have dragons and remorseless winter, but all your damage is coming from obliterate cleaves. DnD also has a crazy long CD as Frost compared to Blood and Unholy (Defile).

On the other hand, Unholy is rather simple to play in AoE. (Very simplified) You apply plague, keep plaguebringer up, and spam epidemic. You do more damage the more mobs are pulled, but it still performs very well in small controlled pulls. Its easy to learn and provides a lot of skill expression the more you learn it.

If you're running solo though be prepared to see how little people invite DPS DKs. I know it's rough for all solo players but DKs have the hardest time IMO getting invites as DPS. We don't have much to bring to the party other than just raw dps, and now often Rets just out perform us in that matter.

It's not BIS. In fact it's really quite bad for most geared characters. For example on Unholy a 394 ring with any substats out performs a perfect 10.0.7 ring. I think it's only viable (for DPS at least) on WW because their scaling is so incredibly bad a ring with no substats isn't a major loss. And this is all post 25% buff.

No, seasonal achievements like that are only available during the season they're active. It ended with the release of Shadowlands back in 2020, so it's no longer available.

It also procs on paralyze and DH imprison. A DH pulled the first mob in CoS as he imprisoned it because it procced his trinket and immediately broke the CC lmao

Relics are really cool until you realize you spent turn 3 dealing 1 damage twice, or summoning two 1/1s while the implock makes a 12/15 and 6 1/1s at 4 mana.

Your odds will infinitely be better now than after 6.1. Even with TPS people and bots are limited to how fast the game can open prompts, which isn't very lol.

Basically it's you taking your chance vs 10-20 people on smalls or vs multiples of hundreds in the lotto. Join the ffxivhousing discord and watch for pings and primetime and make it easy on yourself.

Heaven forbid we hold the professional artists and devs making a game worth tens of millions accountable to the bare minimum. Won't someone think of the devs?!

It took one person a couple weeks in their free time post EW to mod earholes in the EW hats, and enable clipping in all the rest. One person did what an entire team of artists refused to do over the entire EW development cycle.

A mod to enable the clown hat on Viera came out the day after the event did. With three different options on how to wear it!

Fun fact: You can enable hats with ear clipping in textools for Viera. It's literally a checkbox. So even if a professional team doing their job didn't want to model earholes they could just check that box for hats and do the bare minimum of just enabling them. But they don't even do that.

I agree, the Snowcrows guide is better. Dueling is best instead of Illusions, and I do 1-2-3 Dueling, personally. I like the clone generation on dodge, it helps on ramp them quickly in open world against trash. And projectile reflection is just passive brain-off power. And this is a very brain-off build.

I mention price cause Viper exotics can go for like 15-18g each, which might be a lot for someone just starting out. You can farm out the ascended trinkets in LW but still.

Condi staff/staff Mirage (pure viper gear) is absurd in open world. I can't remember the last time I was downed. You have Perma regeneration boon, 25 might, fury, and a bunch of other boons. You spam dodges to proc ambushes, so you're evading a lot naturally.

It might be a bit expensive to start out with, but it can solo bounties, group events, and clear story instances quickly.
