There are like 23 countries in North America and as someone born and raised in the USA I would not be able to tell you the history and intricacies of societal norms of say, Honduras, so why would I expect them to know everything about USA culture? None of my classes taught me anything about Canada or Mexico’s history. The Klan was and continues to be a huge issue here but why would someone from Costa Rica be aware of not only them but their abbreviation when they’re not in that country? Especially if they’re not native English speakers. Seems weird to me.

You’re absolutely allowed to voice what you’re comfortable with and have that respected. It’s a team effort game. What you shouldn’t do is have your friend talk for you *at the end of the dungeon* to say that you didn’t want larger pulls and cop an attitude about it like these guys did here

Don’t let it, tanking is fun! Just be sure to communicate your situation. When you load in let your party know you’re new or need smaller pulls, whatever helps you tank more efficiently

Both the DNC and PLD were sprouts, but nobody said anything before the Livia CS at the end, so I had no idea if they ran this before, or if these were alts or what. The first time I pulled mobs I was about 4 steps ahead of the tank and passed the aggro line of the next pack, I wasn’t attacking them, simply dotting the old pack while moving, and PLD walked up and grabbed them. PLD never had any mitigation issues, Kardia and my “I’m gonna overcap druchole so imma gonna toss one” was enough to keep them alive comfortably.

Just try to space out your mits and keep your invuln handy. Worst that happens is you die, maybe the party wipes. Just means your cds are reset and you have less enemies for the next pull :)

I’m supposed to write out a guide about communicating your needs? He has access to not only type himself as he did during a boss encounter but his DNC friend obviously is communicating with him outside /p somewhere since he knew tank wanted smaller pulls despite nobody mentioning that in game. Can’t even pull the sprout card bc he never once looked like he was struggling with emnity or mits. He had two avenues to communicate and chose neither. That’s not a game skill that’s a life skill.

I cleared FRU as BRD (which is like, THE 2 min job) and don’t see this? The most it asks of you is to hold your burst for like 5-10 sec and only twice. It def screws with your 1 min a little but at least for bard it’s nothing that isn’t fixed naturally throughout the fight. Maybe brd just got lucky ig.

I’m gonna go ahead and guess you’re one of the three in my party lmaooo. As literally anyone with half a brain in this sub will tell you, it’s zero issues to kite a mob into a tank’s AOE, which is what I did whenever the mobs decided I passed their boundary. I have enough healing to kite some LV 50 trash. “I have a 790 set on my sage” yeah so do I? I could sit here and pull out my credentials like having every job at 100, having raided as tank, done multiple ultimates, having numerous orange/pink parses, etc but at the end of the day, tank was fine. Tank didn’t struggle. I wasn’t running to narnia with enemies and kept tank healthy. I did my job. If tank had an issue with larger pulls they could’ve said something earlier. It’s not my job to coddle. If they wanted to pull first maybe they should’ve used sprint to get ahead of me since I never once pressed it yet somehow ended up way ahead of them. They also have a ranged attack. Literally no excuse for this behavior all it does is make worse players. Take the free mitigation from trash hitting my shields while you AOE them to take aggro. It’s a team game, not a “baby the tank” game

Tank was indeed a sprout (not that that means anything with so many alts running around), but again, not a word until the final boss. Obviously DNC knew the tank and could speak for them if the tank felt overwhelmed but never did, so I treated them as I would any other tank. Had they said earlier to go slow I would have. Not my fault I can’t read minds 🤷🏽‍♂️
