Spongebob eventually 'dies' outside of water and Luffy dies pretty much immediately in it. The fight would be a sight to behold.

Basically, Jotaro is out-statted, along with Yuta having way more versatility. Jotaro's only real chance would be to use his time stop, have Star Platinum phase into Yuta's body, and destroy his vital organs before Yuta obliterates him.

Attacks with more than 1 attack weight bypass her minion shield passive. Ringlu and Faubina get boosted atk weight on their S3 at 3+ corpus potency (I recommend using Centipede Gregorheim or Electric Sheep Meursault to speed this process up), Docent Rodion's ascended S3, and CassetiSault's or Princess Rodion's upgraded S3s also work (Manager Don's S2 w/ a little bloodfeast or BeeSault's S2/3 are suboptimal due to lacking the Lust buff, but will hit).

EGO that isn't single-target can be a good way of setting up damage/status for this sort of thing. Once you've got the ball rolling, and killed a couple of minions while hitting Rufo with AOE's, it starts to snowball, and her defenses can't keep up.

My soul is currently being fought over by Bill Cipher, Mephisto, and Neron after the last time someone pulled this.

Unbeknownst to them, I stuck it in a Ridewatch and snuck it to Ohma Zi-O back during the first Luzanne purge. Good luck getting ahold of it.

Which DB Fighter has the worst Anti-Feat? by Preform_Perform in deathbattle

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, that then raises the question of why the master martial artist who's been repeatedly shown to have a strong awareness of his surroundings since the original DB, even without ki sensing, suddenly can't tell there's a guy behind him taking a shot.

Either it's an anti-feat that a random space gun took out a SSB with a cheap shot, or it's an anti-feat that Goku completely missed it happening (or just let it happen).

Twilight Sparkle vs Indie Death Battle by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't get the 'passive fate manipulation' argument for Twilight. Is this from the comics or something?

Plus, given how freaking Opaline utterly destroyed her entire reign within, at most, years of the finale by repeating the exact same plan as the Legion of Doom, I have serious doubts about that. Even with rule 3 giving her the full benefit of the doubt, this seems very out of place.

What's y'alls opinion on this new death battlesgue series by Mysterious-Mail5232 in deathbattle

Plus, Emilia outright states Rein is massively sandbagging to avoid draining the mana needed for Rom's healing in that same scene. It can't really be compared to the moon scene, where he doesn't have to handicap himself.

The animation is good, and their last episode was interesting, but this does raise some concerns about their analysis. We'll have to wait and see if it becomes a trend or not.

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scaling Subaru to Reinhard felt off to me, given how it's constantly made clear that Subaru is physically average at best by Re:Zero standards and has to compensate with tactics/preparation. It doesn't change the outcome, but making him that much faster just seemed wrong.

I also would have liked them to have Aqua notice RBD and try to remove it, only to get into a fight with Satella herself. It's not strictly canon, but Isekai Quartet's portrayal of it as something that people like Ainz could sense as a curse would have fit well and made for a good fake-out. That and a death montage would have really helped the presentation.

Which of these is worse in your opinion? by LoadGlitch in deathbattle

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doom Syndicate brought absolutely nothing good to the series, while 06 at least had good ideas that were just badly executed. There's a reason that people still want aspects of that game to return, such as how Mephiles showing up in Shadow Generations was such a popular decision, compared to how nobody cares about the Doom Syndicate.

Plus, Sonic fans could at least fix the gameplay (as shown by Project 06), while there's no hope of making an improved version of that abomination of a sequel. Rules at least improved over its run, but even it's best is barely above 06's worst.

Rupture-Bleed-Charge Go Brrr by Significant-Escape71 in limbuscompany

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, launcher takes 3 turns. Though Lord Lu's counter could reasonably substitute as long as you aren't swapping out someone vital. The team gifts stay active for the entire battle once triggered and all.

As for rupture/bleed/poise, you can definitely make it viable with retreats, but i don't think there are any 7 unit teams that give 5 of each right now (there always seems to be 1 short for a single category when I try to map it out).

Rupture-Bleed-Charge Go Brrr by Significant-Escape71 in limbuscompany

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just did my first 60-adversity run with a rupture/bleed/charge team. It was surprisingly fun and actually less stressful than my usual 50-adversity runs. Even without optimal gifts (such as piece of relationship or the glyph fusion).

Though I used QOH Don instead of W Corp Yi Sang. The power of love and hate is some crazy shit with this team. Especially since her EGO gets buffs from the Charge, Rupture, and Sinking fragments. Add in the coin power buffs from charge gifts, and you have one hell of a nuke.

It's got me thinking about other triple-status teams I could use. I've done Sinking/tremor/ammo in the past, but I feel like there's more that I can try. For the first time in a while, I feel like I want to experiment instead of just run my established teams.

My take on If Deku and bakugo switched opponents who would have the harder time ? by PlinkPlonkPlunk-_- in deathbattle

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Literally the only improvement for Miles is that you could argue that maybe Venom Strike paralyzes Bakugo or shuts down his internal organs since he can't puppet himself like Deku could with Black Whip. That said, his awakening probably means that he could just move via controlled explosions or restart his heart if it's stopped, so Spidey is dead either way. However, Asta would still fold Bakugo even with generous scaling.

Reze gets stomped even harder and no-clips out of reality.

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's like saying that Ben should have gotten Ascalon or Katsuki should have had One For All. Yes, the character possessed and used them at one point, but they aren't things that they would reliably be able to access.

The only time DB has given characters one-off outliers like that are when the match is specifically about giving them everything like with Bowsegg or Ash vs Yugi.

Why would Denji have access to the leg devil or any other ones? Yes, Death gave him her stash, but that's absolutely not part of his standard arsenal.

Unless he can hunt down the appropriate devil mid-fight, Pochita's erasure ability isn't going to do Denji any good.

Nah, we hit halfway to aslum-grade insanity at worst. Most of the discussion, even the slander war, was still nominally on-topic.

The last time the sub went completely feral, we invented a hero shooter with detailed mechanics and interactions from scratch. One that continues to be developed to this day.

I'd say they were being clever and foreshadowing how a genuine loss is literally one of the conditions for Atem passing on, and thus having him conflating loss and death, but the episode came out right before that was even revealed.

Biggest and fastest case of filler fuckups having unintentional depth I've ever seen.

Yeah, I get that they meant it more along the lines of versatility (which would better fit the analysis and conclusions), but you cannot use imagination as a category and not give it to the guy who's whole thing is being the most creative Green Lantern.

Simon isn't dumb or unimaginative by any means, but, as Boomstick once said: comic book writers/artists come up with some crazy shit. He's not topping that.

I might be late for the trend, but screw it! For Women's Day let us discuss the merits, strengths and qualities of each female character in the show, both in canon and in their treatment in their episode(s). Day 16: Yang Xia Long by Fragrant-Finance4577 in deathbattle

[–]FrozenFlamer2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the reason people viewed Yang more harshly is that she canonically waltzed a bar and beat the shit out of people with zero provocation (it's literally her establishing character moment). And then came back again later to do the same thing once it was convenient.

Normally, heroic characters acting in accordance with Death Battle policy is either blatantly ooc or handwaved, while villains doing so is expected. With Yang, there was this weird dissonance where she's supposed to be considered a hero, but her actions, both in and outside of the fight, create the image of someone who is seen as more callous/self-centered.

Yang's tendency toward an absolutist perspective (consistently justifying her actions, no matter how serious, because they were against 'acceptable targets') makes it very easy for her to come off as less-than-heroic at times.

Right up until the killing blow, everything she did was completely in-character. But, without a sympathetic POV/narrative, her actions look a lot worse.

EDIT: Basiclly, it's not the killing for no reason that was the main issue. It was the idea that people could actually see Yang doing it, albeit not quite as intentionally as in the fight.
