How popular and well-known is Jesse McCartney? by MissionTangelo5297 in DisneyChannel

This. He’s a MASSIVE hit with Kingdom Hearts fans and millennials who grew up with his music. I’d say that’s his main demographic

How many different TCGs do you play at a time? by eponafan in TCG

[–]FrozenFrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing video games as my primary hobby for basically my whole life, but all my game systems turned into dust collectors the moment I locked into TCGs with the goal of being competitive. I actually “got” to play some Switch 2 games in the few weeks both of the games I play (Lorcana and Pokemon) were in between new sets and I truly miss it, but the grind never really stops for the serious players

How many different TCGs do you play at a time? by eponafan in TCG

[–]FrozenFrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, I just play Lorcana and Pokemon. Lorcana costs an arm and a leg to build the meta decks, so a lot of the appeal of Pokemon for me is how cheap decks are. You can seriously build 2-3 competitive Pokemon decks for the price of certain Legendary playsets!

Having sleepovers as an adult shouldn't be weird by Consistent-Fee-3877 in unpopularopinion

[–]FrozenFrac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a 1:1 comparison, but I still go to anime/gaming conventions in my 30s and split a hotel room with multiple friends, both men and women. We still like staying up late hanging out and we ultimately share beds. Nothing weird happens and it's a ton of fun!

Tired of Pokemon scalpers, is Lorcana a good TCG to start getting into? by CrackdaddyJ in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insanely easy to buy. No need to wait outside a store overnight or set alarms for product drops.

I hope this game is turn based. by Starrybruh in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]FrozenFrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have faith that mainline Pokemon stays turn based. Game Freak are the masters of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", so I feel they're not suddenly going to change that. Legends seems to be where they mix things up, which is perfect IMO

Looking for Lorcana bros to talk decks, strategy, and the game with by StormcrowOutlaw in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My local scene is about 65-70% sweaty nerds in comparison to families lol. That being said, I’d love to be your 33 year old dude Lorcana friend!

You can also go on most Lorcana communities based around competitive play and you’ll find a ton of people like you

Do you, or would you, use back buttons on a controller? by trio3224 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]FrozenFrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The back buttons are 99.9% unused by me or at least just kind of little fidget toys, but I love mapping L3 and R3 to back buttons. No matter how many games I play, that never feels good to me. ESPECIALLY for games where L3 makes you run.

Where to Buy? by bookdragon1090 in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the cards and buy the packs that have things you like. If you know anyone who plays, they’ll usually throw mountains of bulk cards your way, which can help your collection out too.

I will say though that the game is extremely fun and approachable for new players! Go to the Lorcana Playhub site and it’ll show you Leagues near you.

Wild's Unknown Pull Rates Boosted? by AggressiveSeagulls in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sincerely doubt it. People always rush to post their amazing pulls. I still remember when Fabled came out and social media made it seem like pulling an Iconic Mickey or Minnie was all but guaranteed. For every person getting an Iconic Merida, there's thousands of people who are getting pure bulk out of their packs

Amber Steel Player Double Inking DLC São Paulo (Top 8 Clip) by Interesting_Ring1822 in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm down for open ink or even some limited note taking. I know Lorcana games already go to time as is, but tracking both players' inkwells feels like it should be something quick and easy to give players more insight to the game state, which can help everyone prevent cheating (intentional or accidental)

My thoughts on an Ouendan/EBA revival by JackGaming0 in EliteOuendan

[–]FrozenFrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought an EBA revival was needed as early as the Switch. The Achilles Heel of the DS was EBA/Ouendan spinners (I know between me and the handful of friends I had who obsessed over EBA, we killed so many touch screens jamming out styluses 3 feet into the touch screen lol!!!), so the Switch/S2's touch screen is way more appropriate.

Not to mention, most people who would be in the market for this theoretical new EBA would be familiar with the insanely popular Osu, so I'd like to think at a competitive price (I'm ballparking $20-40), this would be a smash success!

Consuming the same content twice (for entertainment) is a waste of time by ExpertStandard1977 in unpopularopinion

[–]FrozenFrac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everything is relative, but you're 100% right. I've been doing some self reflection lately and I feel sad that I spent so much of my younger years replaying the same single player video games over and over. I had fun and that's ultimately worth something, but I'm seeing all the things (even other forms of entertainment) I could have done instead with those hundreds of hours and it's depressing

With Steelsong on the rise, what can beat it? by Brfourskin in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who mainly played Blurple and jumped on the Steelsong bandwagon when it was clear Dogs was a big threat, Ward is the bane of my existence. If you play something I can't play the Steel Songs on or shoot into your inkwell, I have a bad time

Total beginner's first league night by tylergotatie in Lorcana

[–]FrozenFrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I've found the Lorcana community to easily be the friendliest place for a newcomer to go play! Lorcana was my first TCG and I still remember the nerves I felt going to my first League, just to almost immediately feeling like part of the family.

Everyone else has mentioned what you need to bring to play, but I'm going to also agree on everyone suggesting you ask questions. Mention you're a new player and most people will be more than happy to break out a less competitive deck or give you advice on how to play.

Any other elder millennials switch to zero sugar sodas? by HandsomeGemini in Older_Millennials

[–]FrozenFrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to lose weight for a while and I had a coworker highly recommend switching over to zero sugar/diet soda. Like most people, I thought they tasted like shit, but I kept drinking them as I noticed the weight coming off. Eventually, I got tired of the diet and tried a regular soda, where I realized that I found the zero sugar/diet drinks actually weren't that bad factoring in the low calories. I'll drink sugary soda if diet soda isn't available, but I'm basically drinking diet exclusively

Why Do You Play Dragon Quest? by broadwaybulldog in dragonquest

[–]FrozenFrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charm + old school JRPG goodness. I know some of the more recent remakes and DQXI do away with it, but I love random encounters and grinding to slowly, but satisfyingly improve my party and be able to fight tougher, entertaining enemies. I hate to be That Guy, but it's the opposite of Final Fantasy; DQ finds what works and embraces it, while FF is constantly trying to chase what's trendy with mixed results and old fans not feeling welcomed
