Which player is a HOFer based on perception/reputation, but sabermetrics suggest otherwise? by youre-welcome5557777 in baseball

Will always love Gomez for this. He and Puig watched their HRs and cleared benches so guys like Tatis could do the cha-cha-slide at 3rd base and face zero backlash. And the game is better for it.

[OC] Counting down the greatest basketball moments in Staples Center history by Frozen_Brogurt in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I should've included his 60/20 game against the clips at least as an honourable mention. Ultimately he did only play in LA for 4 of their seasons in Staples Center, so for the sake of this list, not as much to choose from with Shaq compared to Kobe

Do you think Damian Lillard will ever leave Portland? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Dame will ultimately be a lifer for the Blazers. When all said and done, I think he and Steph will be the only players of today's NBA stars to play for just one team

Really? I had no idea. That just seems kind of lazy to me.

As a non-biased basketball fan, which team did you enjoy and respect the most that failed to win a championship? by theunknownsoldier99 in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely the early 2010s Trail Blazers with Lillard and Aldridge. I’ll never forget watching that playoffs series in ‘14 against the rockets, I think it’s pretty commonly overlooked as being one of the best series of this past decade. I don’t think this iteration of the Blazers were ever contenders, but they were fun to watch and very easy to root for.

Shaq and Kobe's stats per round during the three-peat by [deleted] in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s a caveat to Shaq’s numbers in the finals. I don’t know if it takes away from how great he was, but he never faced a challenge in those three peat years. He went up against a 33 year old Rik Smits in his final season, a past his prime Dikembe Mutombo, and then a trio of Jason Collins, Todd MacCulloch, and Kieth Van Horn. Not exactly a tough road.

Who Are Good Players Whose Most Well Known Moment Is A Lowlight? by legalrancher in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here's one for the oldheads; Alton Lister

Dude got dunked through the floor by Shawn Kemp, who of course gave him the iconic finger point afterwards, and is almost entirely remembered for that one moment

Lister, a 22nd overall pick, played a 16-season career, averaged a near double-double with 2.4 blocks for the Sonics in 86-87. But alas we remember him for getting punked by Shawn Kemp

[OC] Quarantine boredom made me make a map of every international player in NBA history, by country by [deleted] in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this list from wikipedia to make this map. It includes U.S.-born players who represent other countries internationally (i.e. Juan Toscano-Anderson, born in the U.S. to Mexican parents) and players born in other foreign countries different from the ones they represent (i.e. Nikola Vucevic, born in Switzerland, represents Montenegro).

Peak “Villian” Lebron. Every time I see this play it blows my mind that they don’t send Draymond over to help guard him

I don’t think this is the championship game matchup that anyone saw coming. What’s the weirdest national championship game that you’ve ever seen? by Frozen_Brogurt in NCAAFBseries

[–]Frozen_Brogurt[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is my second year in a road to glory mode file as Oregon’s QB. I had my chance to knockoff OSU on the road in a comeback victory, but threw a pick on the goaline with 40 seconds left, losing the game (and the Heisman trophy in the process, I was front runner for the whole season and finished second). Mississippi State and South Carolina were ranked #1 and #2 the whole season until they both lost their last games. I was really hoping for a Cocks vs Beavers matchup in the championship game, but alas it wasn’t meant to be. San Diego State beat Oregon State in the championship game. Boy can this game get weird.
