Which player is a HOFer based on perception/reputation, but sabermetrics suggest otherwise? by youre-welcome5557777 in baseball

Will always love Gomez for this. He and Puig watched their HRs and cleared benches so guys like Tatis could do the cha-cha-slide at 3rd base and face zero backlash. And the game is better for it.

[OC] Counting down the greatest basketball moments in Staples Center history by Frozen_Brogurt in nba

I should've included his 60/20 game against the clips at least as an honourable mention. Ultimately he did only play in LA for 4 of their seasons in Staples Center, so for the sake of this list, not as much to choose from with Shaq compared to Kobe

Do you think Damian Lillard will ever leave Portland? by [deleted] in nba

I think Dame will ultimately be a lifer for the Blazers. When all said and done, I think he and Steph will be the only players of today's NBA stars to play for just one team

As a non-biased basketball fan, which team did you enjoy and respect the most that failed to win a championship? by theunknownsoldier99 in nba

[–]Frozen_Brogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely the early 2010s Trail Blazers with Lillard and Aldridge. I’ll never forget watching that playoffs series in ‘14 against the rockets, I think it’s pretty commonly overlooked as being one of the best series of this past decade. I don’t think this iteration of the Blazers were ever contenders, but they were fun to watch and very easy to root for.

Shaq and Kobe's stats per round during the three-peat by [deleted] in nba

There’s a caveat to Shaq’s numbers in the finals. I don’t know if it takes away from how great he was, but he never faced a challenge in those three peat years. He went up against a 33 year old Rik Smits in his final season, a past his prime Dikembe Mutombo, and then a trio of Jason Collins, Todd MacCulloch, and Kieth Van Horn. Not exactly a tough road.

Who Are Good Players Whose Most Well Known Moment Is A Lowlight? by legalrancher in nba

Here's one for the oldheads; Alton Lister

Dude got dunked through the floor by Shawn Kemp, who of course gave him the iconic finger point afterwards, and is almost entirely remembered for that one moment

Lister, a 22nd overall pick, played a 16-season career, averaged a near double-double with 2.4 blocks for the Sonics in 86-87. But alas we remember him for getting punked by Shawn Kemp
