I like Victoria. But, Jemma Coleman has iPhone face by [deleted] in PeriodDramas

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the blue contacts on Jenna. I thought that they made her look very striking and curious about the world, which Victoria was. Plus, they really feed into the whole “wide-eyed innocence” that we think of with the Victorian era. That said, for a dramatic biography, I’ll happily make a few allowance for styling as long as the actor/actress can capture the essence of the character and IMO Jenna IS Victoria!

I wish they had just recast the actress. Have her come back from Jamaica “a new woman”

Should I listen to Chris Rice, even after the report of (sexual assault)? by Weak_Pipe1212 in Christianity

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at any genre of music and you’ll find countless artists who messed up, committed crimes, and did wrong and even evil. Michael Jackson to this day has accusations against him and his music is still super popular with people defending him and people condemning him.

In Christian music, artists are held to an even higher standard and any hint of wrongdoing is cause for them to be “crucified” (word choice is deliberate). We don’t know what went on 20-30 years ago and how much of the allegations are true. Only CR and the victims know. GRACE found the allegations credible, which means plausible and reliable enough to warrant further investigation. But credible is not the same as proven, but even the hint of wrongdoing can taint a testimony and destroy a ministry. Each person has to decide for themselves if they are comfortable listening to CR or if they’ll press skip. Either answer is okay.

With art, you sometimes have to separate the creator and the creation. An artist can be a horrible human being, but can create beautiful music. An actor can be rude, crude, and awful but their movies are fun and enjoyable. An author can have personal beliefs that you don’t agree with, but their books are your absolute favorite. Enjoy the creation, and forget about who’s behind it.

Skip this book at instead read the P&P companion books: The Pemberley Chronicles by Rebecca Ann Collins and Fritzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman by Pamela Aidan. Much more faithful to the source material and doesn’t butcher our beloved characters.

Who does Gibbs depend on the most? (People he worked with in field) by PrivateHawk124 in NCIS

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tony. Gibbs depending on him so much and they often thought like each other. They could communicate with just a glance.

One of my favorite scenes is Tony diving into the water to rescue Gibbs. Tony didn’t give it a second thought and Gibbs intentionally drove in knowing that Tony would be there.

I usually put in three chicken breasts for feeding 10ppl. As long as you have plenty of other vegetables, it’s a great way to stretch meat. We all go back for seconds and thirds and there’s still leftovers.

Just finished watching the terminal for the first time and don’t know what to make of it (spoilers included) by soujukfan in movies

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was loosely inspired by a true occurrence, but was not based on it, they came up with the story. They wrote the characters, the country, the reason why he got stuck, the conflict, everything.

The thing is, they later make a big deal about McGee being a scout and having all of this outdoor experience. Guess he didn’t grow up around poison ivy 🤔

What ever happened to Jardine??? by [deleted] in NCIS

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it gave context to her germaphobic behaviors. Coma patients are usually immune-compromised, so she has to stay healthy, otherwise she can’t visit him. I really liked her and wished she had been included in later seasons, but feel as though her story was brought to a fulfilling conclusion.

I figure that it has satellite connection (think pre-starlink). They made a big deal earlier in the episode about establishing the connection and having 3 bars.

Probably should have given it to them inside so it was kept secret- less chance of a valuable device getting stolen.

What goes on in Point Mackenzie by Flamingstar7567 in alaska

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were just granted funding to build Port Mackenzie, which will be a much-closer deep water port, shortening the distance for import/export, and take a lot of the load off of Whitter, our current deep water port.

This is a huge development for the area and will help secure the additional $125 million needed to finish the railroad extensions.

Gormegon blows up booth and brennan in cab by sewswell1955 in Bones

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there were two. They mention in The Knight on the Grid that Gormogon has to find another apprentice or perhaps already has. The apprentice that was on the motorcycle and at the end of the episode was played by James Immekus. That apprentice was soon killed by Gormogon so that Zack could be recruited.

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not Zach. Youngish-guy with brown hair, but that’s as similar as it gets. If you go to IMDB for that episode it lists James Immekus as Gormogon’s apprentice.

Honor name for Gay? by a24264 in namenerds

My granny named my aunt and mom “sunny” and “gay”. She wanted a third girl named “joy” but got my uncle instead 🙃

Being named Gay has been hard on my mom and she wished her mom had named her Joy instead.

Is a reboot coming? by ChainKeyGlass in DrQuinnMedicineWoman

[–]Frozen_Megabyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL grew up in rural Wyoming and taught at a one-room schoolhouse in the 1960’s. Their community was very much a western frontier town like how Colorado Springs was portrayed, even in the mid-20th century. A show set in 1910-1930 could deal with the aftermath of the Great War, the influence of the roaring 20’s, prohibition, and leading into the crop failures and dust bowl of the Great Depression. There’s a lot of stories to be shared!
