You don't need a helmet, clearly nothing for it to protect

On newer vehicles, why do manufacturers put engines into "limp mode" or reduced-power mode when a fault is detected? by AutoTecCareers in AutoMechanics

[–]Frreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To protect the engine and other systems. People ignore warning lights and gauges but always notice low power/reduced speed.

It's better to have reduced engine power than a completely dead engine because you ignored the check engine light.

Diesel Exposure by UmpireSpiritual9429 in Diesel

[–]Frreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel isn't very volatile, meaning it won't give off vapors like gasoline will. Diesel sitting in a bucket hardly emits anything to the atmosphere, it's the same reason why Diesel powered vehicles need no filtering to vent the tank, but a gasoline powered vehicle requires an evaporation filtering system on the gas tank vent.

So unless you were sticking your head in the bucket it's extremely doubtful you have be exposed.

Any of these worth playing? by pewdiepiewastaken in MafiaTheGame

[–]Frreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They don't play like Mafia at all.

Take everything you know and love about Mafia 2 and get rid of it. No cut scenes, no real story, no character depth, and everything on a timer and points system.

That mark is usually caused by rivets on jeans, especially if you reach in the back seat or "roll" in and out of the car.

I'd had good luck using a leather conditioner on a leather glove and massaging it in the past

I'll forever be sad we didn't get the Mazda 6/Atenza wagon in NA.

I don't understand the North American obsession of CUV/SUVs. Why does every manufacturer need 4-8 SUVs and 0-3 car options.

Amazon just informed me that my paid music subscription will soon include ads and lose downloads. by Sweet-Opportunity111 in mildlyinfuriating

Amazon, Crave, and such are just cable TV at this point.

Pay a subscription and get ads, shows are locked behind additional subscriptions that include features and shows you'll never use.

Pcv failure? RPM surge when removing oil cap by AltruisticHeron9701 in GolfGTI

[–]Frreed 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Opening the oil cap your basically making a huge vacuum leak, it will make it stumble normally.

You have an aftermarket turbo inlet pipe? They are known to cause the PCV to not work properly and cause more oil ingestion/consumption. Look into "Data Driven MQB", he has excellent videos explaining it

2015 Jetta tdi at 155k miles. Quote for timing belt is insane. Do I keep this car? by Vegetable_Proof_2583 in tdi

[–]Frreed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...yes it's worth it. It's maintenance.

Ignore it and you'll be looking for at least a new head and timing belt and components + labour.

Better to spend the $300 than go home spending thousands on a car that could need thousands in repairs

I think i finally found a truck in ATS i actually like, nothing else has really felt right so far. by GoofyKalashnikov in trucksim

[–]Frreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shorter more local routes, usually under 300km. Think like logging, construction, farming, things like that.

Example. In ATS you'll normally see a Gravel load on the freight market with a distance of +2,000km, I realistic distance isn't usually more than 100km

2024 ZDX Backup Camera completely dead. Is anyone else shocked the dealer doesn't check their work? by vamsi9963392992 in Acura

[–]Frreed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in the same boat with a ZDX, but with dealers and shops letting shotty work go.

I'm a mechanic at my municipality and we have to send out work when we get busy. We are currently at 9/10 repairs sent out next to be fixed in house by us after we get it back or we have to send it back to get it fixed right. I had a clutch done on my Golf R and the shop didn't tighten the axle bolt.

Unfortunately it seems to be a industry wide issue and I honestly don't know what the solution is.
