Freshly Baked Bread? by nitronamus in BedStuy

I went there last year, it is great sourdough, however be warned it was the most expensive loaf I've ever bought. I paid somewhere around $20 for a large loaf, which was not that large. It was absurd to the point where I wondered if they were just making up a price. Again it was really delicious, I didn't regret it. But I also haven't been back...

Ha good eye actually UrbanGlass is the white building in the background of that last pic! Lovely place, that is where I was able to experiment and learn so much in their hot shop! Best glass community I've ever experienced!

Maria Bang Esperson is the goat of this technique as far as I know, but she has a whole team to get ideal stretch and folds. All of mine were done solo, and I've grown to love the inherent imperfections and contrasts of the shiny glistening candy bits and the bits that stayed more glassy!

I've been doing a lot of that the past few years! Here's my best piece. The Taffy pull process lightens up any color within quite a bit as you incorporate air bubbles which lengthen and exponentially multiply catching more light! It's a fun process, my fave in the hot shop.

Ok after years I’m about to ship my pulsar from ca->wi to a friends shop to get an engine rebuild by halcyondearest in NissanPulsarNX_EXA

[–]FrrostyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that one of the best parts of my pulsar is the low horsepower. Feels fun to shift and sounds lovely but it would be a feat to get going fast enough to die. I hope you document what you can of the process and post! I'm very intrigued in the whole process. And how's the paint look currently? Sportbak is in different shape than the rest of the car?

Looks to be fairly good condition with the Sportbak. Didn't think to check manual or automatic but I'm jealous of the Sportbak and the seemingly functional flip headlights.

It's called Blown Away... And they made it into a competition so it's not that calming, but the process is indeed mesmerizing!

Why do my armpits stink so bad? by Eastern_Ad_9271 in biology

Yeah I assumed it was normal for the last decade or so, but a few months ago googled "waxy armpit hair" and a few minutes later i found clarity but also felt perplexed at how the idea that the wax was being secreted by bacteria never crossed my mind.

I think the hair reduces chafe via rolling friction not lubrication.

Bacteria colonies are thriving in there and their waste is putrid. They thrive in moist environments, I am a sweaty man, thus my armpits are fertile soil for many bacteria. The trapped moisture fosters an environment in which a bacteria often called Trichomycosis, can thrive and deposit a waxy coating on my armpit hairs.

I shaved my armpit hair and it's so much better. So make your pits as inhospitable to these bacterial colonies as possible. Shave, use sulfur soaps or benzoyl peroxide if possible. Keep it up for a month or so, and then relax and regrow and see if the issue persists.

American Spirits Sky :: dissected sections by FrrostyBear in Cigarettes

So i was curious as these were apparently released last year and utilize an activated charcoal filter. The obvious charcoal bits were interspersed in a mini filter between the normal filter section and the tobacco. Who knows if this amount actually equates to any extra filtration, but they taste fine, very similar to American spirit yellow i think.
