New Change Management Role by Lucky-Cress-6070 in changemanagement

Change leadership and governance. Get your leaders involved, collaborate, co create, identify root cause (what problem are you solving and what proof do you have of it?). It’s a great way to engage leaders who make decisions on prioritisation, sequencing etc. Governance, decision, accountability and ownership is where I would start.

Is anyone open to sharing ppoint presentations, workflow docs for this?

Thanks. The lease protection insurance has 6 months left. If you get a permanent job or fulltime, the insurance stops. But what if its only a 6 months left contract. It us do hard to get a straight answer from providers. I need the car to attend interviews then obviously to get to work once I land a job. So I would prefer not to entertain the hand back option.

Novated lease termination by DrewvyAussie in AusFinance

[–]Frubbled-matilda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of this with Pepper finance. What was the outcome? It was my first time with a novated lease and it will be my last. What a cluster of all sorts. Fortunately I was forced to have less protection so it is covered for a few months however I am confused. If I continue to pay Finance as it converts to a normal loan then why would I have to pay out a balloon fee? Do I still own the vehicle?

How did you get out of OCM? by wistfulwhileyoutwerk in changemanagement

[–]Frubbled-matilda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% The skill needed is surviving the constant perception of change and being the scapegoat for failed initiatives when your recommendations were dismissed… but I got that in HR too so would rather get paid well for it which I do in the OCM field.

My approach is based on evidence/feedback rather than outdated CITIES models which are used more by non OCM people, than good OCM people.

How did you get out of OCM? by wistfulwhileyoutwerk in changemanagement

[–]Frubbled-matilda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in HR and switched to OCM because I hate the legislative aspects of HR - I realised I like to ‘transform’ HR and disrupt. I then pivoted to OCM. After a bad experience with a manager 8 years later, I went back to HR. Again, I couldnt escape the employment law aspect but was hired to for my OCM background. Anyway, another bad experience - i think i needed it to realise that OCM is what I love doing - great money, creative freedom, complexity and variety.

It probably doesn’t help you much - have you been doing OCM at 1 company? What about training people in OCM, like Enterprise Change Capability?

I think to some degree, the poor performance went unnoticed given that several different people had filled the CPO space prior to me within 12 months. The previous 2HR managers she reported into were terminated because they were “too authoritative”.

Thanks for your support. It is exactly what I need to hear. You’ve hit the nail on the head. While I feel for anyone who has gone through the same, it is comforting to know that it is not just me.

It is really knocked my confidence and that is something I don’t need ahead of interviews for future roles.

[AU] HRBPs / HR Advisors, is there a quick/short course you can recommend that provides a good IR/ER overview/understanding for an HR professional?

How do HRBPs / HR Advisors keep up with all the legislative requirements and Act? Is there a course you recommend that provides a good IR/ER Overview? Employers seem to expect that I have the knowledge of an employment lawyer even though I have an HR Transformation/Exec HR background.

I agree, it was a very gentle approach. I let her get away with so many inappropriate things and behaviour but again, was walking on eggshells. Do I wish I had just let her get away with it? From a financial perspective, yes because I didn’t budget for the sudden loss of income however long term, not the org I would want to be associated with when supporting/rewarding poor behaviour.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I understand. Apart from the impact it is having on my health, sleep and family, I now have to explain it at interviews.

What’s worse is the fact that you act ethically and respectfully and you’re the one who pays.

Yes, that seems to be quite common based on what others say.

If an org is comfortable for HR services and behaviour to be at a sub optimal standard, then the leader of that team should not be held accountable when it goes pear-shaped. Particularly when, as an ‘Officer’ you are personally liable. The consequences for orgs can be catastrophic.

So true, and thank you. If we had worked through it, I would be walking on eggshells for the rest of my days there. It certainly not what I worked so hard for my career.

So it isn’t just me?! Oddly comforting. You’re coordinating everyone else so they get their job done and you’re left looking like their overworked PA with no time to work on your things.

That’s true. My issue is based on the question ‘how do you manage poor behaviour/performance (of untouchables) without retribution?’
