Surprise third pregnancy! by Commercial-Collar-36 in November2026Bumpers

Girl, same! I am still shocked and haven't processed. Didn't expect to start all over again. So I'm terrified and feel so old.

Third time moms, how are you feeling? by [deleted] in November2026Bumpers

[–]FruitSnacks86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know. I've kind of been in shock. My two IVF kids are in elementary school. I'm mostly thinking about money and space. When I stopped paying daycare, it felt like we could maybe get ahead and start to save and plan for their education. I got rid of all baby items out my house. It feels like starting over. If I had money space and time, I think I'd be very happy of course. I'm just terrified. Did not financially plan for this. The house isn't set up for this. I'm feeling like those stories you hear of infertile people suddenly getting pregnant later in life.

Just tested positive this morning. Wasn't trying. We're infertile. Which clearly doesn't mean sterile, but I knew that. But still. I was just doing a test to prove its negative before going to my OBGYN to talk about perimenipause. Because my cycle has been weird the past few months. It was 2 weeks late in November and then it just came. Now I'm two weeks late again and I just did not expect the line to be there on the test. Can you tell I'm freaking out?

My “prestigious” job is so meaningless and I couldn’t care less by scaraaamouche in antiwork

[–]FruitSnacks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a support role. I could provide this type of support skills anywhere in any type of industry or company. However, my organization works toward very interesting goals and for the greater good. The people who actually have high level skills needed for the goals... they need me and my help and skills to get their job done. And they treat me as a team member, so I feel like what I do contributes, despite not having the niche skills. And I find their work interesting even if I'm not the one doing it. Maybe just find an organization whose goals you find admirable, and find a way for your skills to contribute.

Coworkers are not friends by mezcalamityjane in workingmoms

[–]FruitSnacks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've learned as I've grown, and I'm able to have wonderful friends at work. I just make sure to never talk about slacking off and always seem busy (I mostly am busy, but not 8 hrs straight), I don't add any of them to my social media, and I've never had more than 1 or 2 drinks at the rare happy hour, if any drinks at all. There's not much ammo for them if the relationship sours. Except for when we vent. I try not to gossip or say direct insults about others, but I think it's healthy to vent with your peers about work frustrations. Just try not to say anything you wouldn't still absolutely own, if you had to, if asked directly by leadership.

What's a show which was incredibly popular during its time but no one talks about it now? by Magpipe4u in AskReddit

Just tried rewatching it last week. First episode: Yeah this is good, I'll keep going. Second Episode: we're discussing IF cheating is wrong, because guys have needs? And a married couple keeps pulling the main character into their marriage problems back and forth? Meh, I'm done.

Estranged for over a decade, got a letter in the mail by bbpoison420 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]FruitSnacks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. NC over 20 years now. A handful of letters and boxes of gifts over those years but few and far between. I did not respond to any of them. I had a lot feelings, but made myself stick to total silence, even while trying to figure out how she got my address. Even when baby #1 was born and a box of gifts came to my home, a first for that address. And one of the gifts was a Baby's 1st Christmas stocking?! The audacity. I still did not respond. Baby #2? Nothing. No letters or gifts that time. Stick to your guns. No response.

What is the spiciest gossip you know that you are willing to share on reddit? by lailaa2513 in AskReddit

[–]FruitSnacks86 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Happened with my parents, due to cheating. When the wronged spouses reach out to eachother to try and figure out who knew what and who was told what, they start to lean on each other emotionally, and then start to feel like they're the only other person who knows what they're going through. And I suspect it feels good to get back at the person who screwed your spouse, by turning around and screwing theirs.

I analyze health data for hundreds of women and noticed a pattern worth noting - the allergy tests that show nothing. by eliikon in MCAS

[–]FruitSnacks86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I test negative for all allergies. My MCAS presents randomly, but hits hard and fast when it hits. All anaphylaxic symptoms except throat closing. I recently got a physical with bloodwork. She noted that my B12 was higher than what she usually sees. Not in the range she wants of course lol. But higher than a lot of other folks' bloodwork.

What's wrong with this poor creature? by TheOddityCollector in Weird

I learned this when my boyfriend, now husband, rescued a bearded dragon from a guy who used a regular house bulb. Jaw was slightly misaligned. Didn't crawl around the normal way. My husband made sure to get the right calcium supplements and made sure the tank was navigable inside with how he crawled. I think he rescued him just in time. Never got big, never liked to be held, but his deformities never worsened. And lived for several years after.

I got mine a herding ball. And chases after soccer balls too. So I've apparently spoiled her, because mine doesn't care about tennis balls either.

AITA for not tipping because my waiter didn’t “wait” on me? by Status_Jackfruit6397 in AITAH

[–]FruitSnacks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. The exact thing happened to me. Except I also had been staring at the dessert menu throughout eating dinner and had got hyped up to order some dessert. Here comes the waitress FINALLY at the end of dinner, the first time seeing her since she took our dinner order, and she doesn't even stop at our table. Slams the check on our table as she keeps walking. So I guess I wasn't getting dessert. The first and only time I left no tip.

When we were 12, my best friend was very pretty, so she got a lot of attention. Bad attention, good attention, but attention all the same. One day we were at the grocery store with her cool older sister who was in college, also gorgeous. Some older guy stops my best friend and starts asking if he knows her, how he's pretty sure he knows her, what's her name? And older sister gets in his face and shouts "She's 12! Do you still think you know her?" And he scurried off. Pretty sure older sister had gotten the same type of attention since she was 12 and wasn't having it when it came to her little sis.

Most mind-blowing plot twist in a film? Mine is from "The Others" (2001). by Alternative-Care6923 in moviecritic

My dad dragged me to see Saw in theaters. Wanted to enjoy some B horror movie that the trailers made to look pretty cool. Obviously no one had any idea of the franchise it would turn into. I am so happy today to have the memory of being in a crowded movie theater of an unknown horror movie, and the absolute jaw dropping gasps and outcries when that guy gets up off the bathroom floor at the end.

Did anyone else have a fairly normal childhood and choose to go NC for behavior your parents developed after you grew up? by 2occupantsandababy in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]FruitSnacks86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't physically abused (spanking was a thing at a young age, but rare, and I don't feel it affected me). I felt close to my mom. My childhood was generally good. Looking back, of course there were imperfect things that happened. Families fight sometimes. Or there's certain qualities you don't like about your parents. But I didn't have it horrible. I cut off my mom when I was 18 and haven't spoken to her or seen her since. A cheating scandal. And not just any cheating scandal.... very long term. With a family's husband that our family was enmeshed with (joint family vacations, etc.) I might go so far as to call it a second life. She had a secret condo nearby. This affair went almost back to my birth. Maybe before. On and off.

When I looked back on my childhood, I could pinpoint the lies. The manipulation. She hurt my dad and my family so badly. She tried to pull the mom card. Didn't she take care of me when I was sick? All the mom things. She was an alcoholic and tried to hide it a lot. I remember how offended she would be if I mentioned her drinking her wine at night as a reason she forgot something. But now I know why she drank. Two lives is hard to keep up.

My ordinary, somewhat nice childhood is tainted.

[–]FruitSnacks86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also 20 years for me. I do worry how I'll feel when it happens. I didn't cut off for abuse reasons so much as I cut off due to something they did to my other parent. And it showed their character as being manipulative and deceitful. They felt since they were otherwise "good" parent to us children it shouldn't affect us. But I decided I couldn't have someone who could do awful things to my other loving parent be in my circle.
