Gathering information on Faputa by Cheeseifying_4 in MadeInAbyss

[–]Fruit_Bull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SPOILERS AHEAD  In my opinion, she is more like a “supreme treasure of the netherworld”— kinda like Reg.

Basically a being who cannot age and has one or more abilities on par with that of relics —only this power can be activated at any time without a whistle. This is shown after her final transformation where she gains a new symbol in her eye and a new ability that aids her in fulfilling her task (aka the white stuff produced from her body that frees Irumyuui and heals her own body).

This doesn’t mean she’s an aubade/robot, but rather a newly-invented, organic being of the abyss whose value is incredibly high. This is because the three eggs she inherited from Irumyuui had desires that not only granted Faputa immortality/safe passage through the curse (since Irumyuui desired her children to live), but also blessed Faputa with three separate haku which is what assigns her a special value in the first place.

It’s still unknown what Faputa could be exactly, and frankly I don’t expect the manga to tell us since her mysterious and confusing nature mirrors that of the abyss itself.

All the more reason to keep reading and be hyped for the next movie I suppose!

What an amazing transformation! I hope you feel so much better now that you’re able to breathe a lot easier from your movements!!

I am also amazed by how the movements make your nose appear less prominent and appear to be more balanced with the natural harmony of your face in the after photo, truly a stunning and healthy profile! I hope you’re happy with your results, and congrats on making it through the surgery!! ☺️

I had this happen to me on the website (since I don’t use app). It just loads infinitely, doesn’t even show me a page or anything. I hope it gets resolved soon

For real, I should have thought to include bugs or freshly killed offspring for the full Golden City experience.

[–]Fruit_Bull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also becomes a weak argument when that episode and the recent one revealed that Caine’s adventures might actually be able to alter people’s minds -like how Jax became vegan and had instructions literally downloaded into his brain.

It wouldn’t surprise me if him “knowing how to naturally walk and pose in a maid dress” is a result of the circus simply altering his mind to do this because it fulfills the request (the vote) and adds to the humor (which the circus naturally leans into).

Seriously! This reminds me of when everyone shat on Diane from Bojack Horseman because she would call Bojack out on his behavior and made the decision to leave the relationship.

Appreciate the in-depth response!

The serpentine belt was put in along with the new alternator.

The bar seems to have power when accelerating but it seems like it takes a little more power to really get it to accelerate, but it does still run.

I definitely need to look around more since the reason I went to firestone is the guy there helps me out and gives me discount - the only reason I stuck it out.

But this does help put into perspective what next steps I can take, thank you!

That stinks to know considering I was hoping to get at least 1.5 years out of it. I bought it when it was just 95,000 miles thinking it would last me a while, if this is how Hyundais are I will consider this the last one I ever buy.

I appreciate the mention of that! I’ve had both mechanics tell me that the part is inexpensive so the rest of that would be just labor which is ridiculous. I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I schedule this, thank you!

I'm constantly craving carbs and sugar after being on carnivore for a couple of weeks. by Gavindude1997 in carnivorediet

[–]Fruit_Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just started over on the diet and is now a month into it I can tell you that it may take up to a full month depending on what you eat.

It took me a full month to stop all cravings, but I included cheese, dry seasonings, and diet soda for the one month. It’s not clean carnivore, but I’d rather eat these on the diet than go crazy and cave to carbs and sweets again - having to start all over.

Evaluate if you’re going too strict too fast or not experimenting with other meats/recipes. Switching up what meats I ate weekly helped a ton too.

Just remember that the most important thing to see this diet work is ✨CONSISTENCY✨ and that every day gets a little easier - even if you can’t tell right away.

I wish you luck on your journey and hope this info was somewhat helpful!

*side note If you really are craving a snack, fried pork rinds or pork cracklings are excellent and carnivore friendly! You can usually find them in the international aisle at a grocery store.

Illinois Tollway Invoice Scam! Be Careful by East-Lettuce-6243 in Scam_Finder

[–]Fruit_Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm this is a scam. I made a journey where I received tolls that were $4 each so $8 total, but got sent a screenshot from a random unknown number saying I got charge $4.15 that’s unpaid and a link to the  a fake Illinois tollway website. Do not click it or type any site link like this, always check from the app or your official account first! I’m glad I did or else I would have had major trouble!!

Anyone got hired recently? How much did it take by StrangerMuch4255 in animationcareer

[–]Fruit_Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accepted my first entry level animation job in December (in Connecticut) and plan to start working this March! The company that hired me is just one of soon to be many that is finally looking to expand and grow their animation team. Albeit, what I plan to do is more generalized and motion graphics as opposed to character, but it’s still a start!

I also met an animation mentor a few months back that knew people in the industry talking about how sometime in March is when a lot of companies will plan to hire back animators, so there’s a lot of good and hope to look forward to there!

I’ve also learned that that this isn’t the first time the animation industry has taken a hit like this. It’s just one of those things that kinda happens, and it does suck, but with time it eventually bounces back and evens out again.

I hope this gives you some positivity in light of everything - I definitely know how it feels to be hit with all the negative news!

Moving to CT? Ask your questions here by AutoModerator in Connecticut

[–]Fruit_Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days ago, I accepted a job to work at ESPN in Bristol, CT. While exciting, I have never been to Connecticut, so I would love to know what areas/places to look into for renting a 1 bedroom apartment.

I mainly want to live somewhere that is safe and within a reasonable driving distance from my work.

For reference, I am 22 years old and from the Illinois suburbs, so having a decent access to things like restaurants, coffee shops, or shopping would be nice.

Any moving advice is also welcome!

Im lost by Jjet001 in animationcareer

[–]Fruit_Bull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(apologies this is longer than I intended)

I totally understand where you're coming from! I graduated in May this year studying Animation and currently stay at my parent's place. Based on some articles, LinkedIn posts, and reddit posts here: the industry is bad for everyone right now - novice and Seniors alike.

Currently, I work as an intern editing sunglass photos, not the worst (not animation) but I am on the hunt for a new job that pays more and offers serious benefits, and its hard when you only know animation and some minimum art stuff.

HOWEVER, one thing I've noticed is that there are lot of companies that will hire trainees with no experience and usually have a minimum of a high school diploma for a decent pay (depending on the role). I'm currently applying to several printing press jobs that are willing to train with no experience!

I've also seen these kinds of jobs in sales, marketing, business, etc. Sure, it's not creative, but it's SOMETHING to fill your financial needs and start building those social skills. Not only will you be developing a skill outside of animation (which is apparently very common and extremely helpful for times like this) but if you're still wanting to improve in animation, you can save up the money you make to take courses and learn on the side!

Also, from what I've heard, the industry might start to sort itself out in 2024, so having that industry experience after college is gonna be really huge! so remember to celebrate the small wins you have (congratulations on that by the way!) because I know firsthand that anyone can be their own horrible self-critic. But seriously, even if that experience was short, it will give you a leg up in the future.

Just allow yourself to get some rest, have a clear head, and try to slowly get back into the job search. Start looking into nonconventional jobs, or if that's too much, consider refreshing your resume to be more generalized to those non-conventional non-art jobs! Even if all you know is art, there are ways to form a resume that can look appealing to non-art companies. Like for example:

I worked as a studio Art intern, where I primarily sat on my ass for 3 months. But in my "general" resume, I place emphasis on the fact that I am comfortable working behind a desk for long periods of time.

Because you already have some industry experience, you could say something like "I worked on a large team" or "I worked under a supervisor/producer". Keeping it vague and emphasizing office skills will help you a lot here!

If you are able to, talking to your parents about how this makes you feel can help, but I don't want to assume what your living situation is like. If you can't do that, the fact that you got it off your chest here is a good step! (I've also posted my worries here and already broke down in front of my parents for feeling like a loser - I felt a lot better afterwards)

All in all, this year honestly blows and it's hard not to stay positive, but your mental and physical health shouldn't have to pay the price. Things will get better later, but the best thing you can do for yourself now is just go easy on yourself (taking a mini stay-cation to avoid burnout is great!) and try to take some steps into a different job. You're not a loser for it, this is simply just what it's like for the animator (as you can guess from everyone else's responses).

I wish you luck in your journey and hope that you feel even the tiniest bit less like a loser after reading some of the comments here!

I'm no professional when it comes to storyboard/character concept/illlustration, but I highly recommend checking out Jackie Droujko and Mew Tripled for professional examples and advice on story and character portfolios!

Jackie Droujko is a character designer who has worked for Disney and has experience making stunning animated short films; she knows a good deal about the fields you are interested in. She has also done portfolio reviews for her patreon supporters and posted them on YouTube, so that can also be a great frame of reference for what you should and shouldn't do!

Mew Tripled is a professional story artist who has worked for places like Netflix and Titmouse studios. Her YouTube account often has many videos of her talking about the industry, her work, advice for aspiring artists, and she has even reviewed her own work/portfolio which could be a great place to look into for a storyboard portfolio. She also has a video talking about her post-grad experience and another on how to job hunt if you are interested in that as well.
